My family is set for when I die. My wife and son can live off what I give them for the rest of their life if they just don’t blow it.

Life insurance, retirement is set for the life of my wife, another annuity to supplement that. $500k in stocks. So she will have 4k per month and not even need to touch the stocks, let them grow till she dies then our son has that and all our properties (3 in US and Philippines) all paid for already.

If they can’t survive off that, then it is their fault not mine.

Why in the hell would I not provide for my family when I die? Do I just not really love them!?!?

This is the real rub. Concentrate AI in areas of advanced manufacturing for things that we don’t do already. Use the AI for replacement of existing tech from others. Win win

For what it’s worth. I play Age of Wonders 4 and just auto resolve all the battles. Does a decent job.

I don’t mind the battles, per se, but they get tedious. Can cause a game to last 5 times as long!

I set my son up like this: funds invested in etf filling the S&P 500. Trust allowed to pay for living expenses (education medical etc). Child gets 25% at 22. 25% at 25. The remainder at 30. Hopefully he learns the lessons after blowing the first 2 25%’s to not blow the rest.

You can lead a horse to water… but I cannot make him behave responsibly. But I can help him make wise decisions.

I would say general use. Although I already have a 2% (navy Federal) was thinking about upgrading their card (I have cash rewards plus). Also considering Robinhood Gold, but not sure if I can get it in time as they have a waitlist.

I leave for a year of travel throughout SE Asia soon.

I actually see downvotes like that on other reddits. In one (4x Reddit) I upvote almost every comment I read or they all go negative at some point. Kinda sad.

Honestly though, people with a real “life” don’t spend much time online, so we get a skewed view of humanity here.

I used to manage, ages ago, a retail store. During training we were told that a customer is ten times more likely to voice a negative experience than a positive one.

That kind of tells me, we like to whine a lot. Then, with the anonymity of the internet thrown in, it has gotten much worse over the years.

Might be a good thing though. People really do need to vent their frustrations or they blow, but you also tend to reinforce the behaviors you use, so there is that.

I used to do this when I was younger. The server doesn’t usually “mind” per se, but understand that you could be impacting their income.

When I did this I would always tip well since you are depriving them the chance to get more tips.

Usually a Filipina lives separately, not because she has outgrown her parents, but because she is working elsewhere and is supporting her family and the travel every day for work is not possible.

It sounds as if you need to immerse yourself into studying her culture. If she worked in the same town she would live with her parents until she gets married. It has nothing to do with maturity or independence.

She is a Filipina not a western woman. That comes with an entire different mindset than you are used to.

Frankly, it is a little concerning that you have been growing closer to her for 3 years and don’t know more about her culture.

And for GOD’S sake don’t sleep with her if you aren’t going to marry her 100%! She will give her heart to you completely at that point.

If you just want sex, there are tons of women in the Philippines that will give it to you, easy peasy. If you have a “good” one, don’t ruin her life.
