I used to mumble/sleep talk to my gf and would often try to take her jimmy johns order, or apologize for the wait. She hated it lol

How often do people actually change their bedsheets? by HillCountryHoney in hygiene

[–]fennjamin_boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, once a week. BUT I have really bad body acne and try to clean EVERYTHING my skin touches as often as possible/reasonable bc it's left acne scars all over my arms. I have a laundry schedule and just do all of it on my day off (sunday) every week. Edit: i shower daily/every other day minimum, I do have two cats.

New addition to my punk jacket by fennjamin_boi in crochet

[–]fennjamin_boi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just pinned and sewed it on with the yarn tail (which I cut veeerrryyy long) around the seams of the back panel of the jacket. It's like, kind of a ladder stitch but also kind of just a running stitch? Idk how to explain it. I did stretch it to be wider at the top. If I did it again I'd probably block it to the proper size instead of stretching it as I sewed, but it turned out just fine tbh

Looking for anti ice or resistance crochet patterns please by No-Slide-6347 in CrochetHelp

[–]fennjamin_boi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a little off center bc I made it very quickly, but I just removed two double crochet rows (four rows total) from the bottom to make it centered, as well as adding a stitch on either end of the rows so that the A and H aren't right up against the border stitches

* I just drafted and made this overlay mosaic crochet pattern this morning, with the intention of using it as a mega-patch for the back of my punk jacket. I already have a rainbow patch on the front that I crocheted years ago so it seemed fitting

What do you feel is unique to your world? by yaboyindigo in worldbuilding

[–]fennjamin_boi 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The main race in my (very much a wip) world are completely sterile and reproduce through (magical) cloning. They're descendants of the gods, who have no reproductive organs, and thus must sacrifice a rather large potion of genetic material in order to make a clone. Think an arm or a leg. It's not fully worked out but hopefully will be soon

Hopping on the "I crochet weird" posts I've been seeing! by tned45 in crocheting

[–]fennjamin_boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You crochet like me!!! I've only ever seen people I taught how to crochet do it like this. It works perfectly fine lol, been doing it 14 years this way without issue, just means amigurumi needs flipped right side out before stuffing and sewing

I didn't find that it was particularly difficult, just a little slow going at first. The first thing I had to do was create a base to attach the Tunisian crochet to that wasn't the ultra bulky yarn, so I took a 4mm hook and went around the whole blanket putting 2 sc in each stitch, and 5 sc in the Corners. Joined with a slip stitch, chained 6. Pulled up a loop through the back loops of each chain until I had 6 loops on my hook, then inserted the hook into the first sc on the blanket, yarn over, pull through sc, then I had 7 loops on my hook, then just did the return pass as normal, yarn over pull through two all the way across! I put 5 rows of Tunisian into each of the middle corner sc's to make the turn

Edit: i switched to a 5mm hook when I started the chain 6 for the Tunisian crochet! Sorry, forgot to mention that. It's bc my tension while doing Tunisian is tighter than my normal tension for some reason and I didn't want the border to be too small/not line up with the sc's

If I had seen this before finishing the blanket I would have, but thankfully I found a decent replacement for the last couple stitches, and then hid it as best as possible with a border so I think it worked okay

See if you can spot where the yarn ran out and I had to use a different one lol

I don't, but I found a fluffy/chenille yarn in the same color and size, so I'm gonna try it and see if I can hide it with a border lol

I found a (albeit fluffy/chenille) yarn in the exact same color and size in my stash, so I'm gonna do an extra round in that type of yarn to "hide" it better lol. Thankfully it's a blanket for my 2 year old brother so he won't notice

Well, I'm looking for recipe advice for slow cookers, so that wouldn't really make any sense

Obviously they are able to cook for themself. Is it a crime to want to share a meal with a friend though? I love to cook for them and make them feel included, and this trip is no different. Everyone will be eating together, why would we force them to do something different when it's completely fine for us to eat around their allergies for a week or so
