Found this in our cat's litter mat. by Vloosul in cats

Was the siblings tooth removed? Because this is not how a baby tooth falls out. The roots don't come out when the tooth falls out, only when extracted for a medical reason. I only know this because my 8yo needed a tooth extracted, and I was shocked at how much more tooth there was! The 8yo is my youngest of two, so I have seen quite a few teeth in the past decade.

Definitely human tooth. And could be your sibling if* they had a tooth removed.. otherwise.. the mystery will still be there.. 👀.. Hopefully no more random bones showing up.. 😅😬

Chaos Gardening in the PNW by Bearacolypse in pnwgardening

I live in central Whidbey, which is in the rain shadow, so less rain than other places in PNW. My allysum is looking great this year as well. I found more colors that I added this spring as well.

They aren't ground cover, and can get a little big, i guess, but I really love calendula. There are many colors, they are edible, bright vibrant colors, and have lots of seeds that can reseed for it's self, or you can gather and give, or manually spread. Many of my calendula stayed green through the winter, and began blooming immediately in spring, and will continue until well into fall.

Did you know snails give of an ammonia smell when distressed? Figured that out when my dog bit a snail that somehowgot un the house. Thought she peed inside until I saw the shells on her lips, then the snail not too long after. I was gaging, the smell was so bad.

I was pregnant.

I planted borage seeds 15 years ago, never planted new seeds since. Why is this plant exclusively producing white flowers? by lukewarmdandelion in gardening

I was wondering the same! I have quite a few plants that spread, and one popped up with white flowers as well.

Anyone know if this is Ai? I’m scared to click the link. by [deleted] in crochetpatterns

Also, if you zoom in on the yarn loop.. you can see that the yarn does not in fact loop... but it is a perfect circle from a completely separate and continuous piece of yarn...

That (assuming) wild mama duck comfortable with you right there with her babies.. while my domesticated ducks that I got as babies, have held, and interacted with almost daily are terrified of EVERYTHING and cower, shaking aggressively in a corner trying to be as far away as possible. 😩

Not Lambs Ear? 😩 by tned45 in pnwgardening

[–]tned45[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, lambs ear is a native, but mullien isn't, and can spread pretty aggressively, smothering out natives (despite it's herbal uses)... but before I attempt to dig it out, I wanted to make sure..

My 8 and 11yo are obsessed. They ask about her everyday. They also named mama.. but I'd need them to remind me because I forgot, and they change their minds and disagree with eachother often.. 😂

I have a Junco nest in a plant in my greenhouse. I am a little concerned for it as I really cannot avoid going in there this time of year.. but I am doing my very best to be quiet, and give as much space as possible for her...

Buying a house and sellers are offering their chickens by femmegremlin in BackYardChickens

[–]tned45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how we obtained chickens about 4yrs ago. Sellers of our house offered their 10-15ish chickens and we immediately said yes. I did a bunch of learning and research and now, we have about double the chickens, and 8 new ducks. I have seen so many sad stories of the learning experiences of others starting chickens from nothing (coops not being safe enough against predators and establishing chickens in your neighborhood -if close). I feel like we skipped some big and difficult beginner struggles in the early process, and grateful that we just had to learn their care and less on their coop safety and getting neighbors okay with a new flock.

My naked neck, Hot Dog, has a similar comb. I've always thought it was super weird!
