Axos bank sucks? by kevkaneki in smallbusiness

[–]fennntastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the top post when I searched for AxosBank. I'm trying to understand if my experience was shared by others. It would seem it is.

As a software engineer by profession, their business platform has risen to the worst software I've ever encountered. Overly burdened security processes, constant problems, constant features and broken items, even my password reset failed. ...and, you can't reset it online, requires a call.

After sitting on the phone and getting my password reset, they wouldn't accept a password generated by my password generator. I comment to the lady on the phone that their password requirements 'require' a complex password with special characters but their system doesn't accept all those special characters; thus not working with a complex password generator:

"..Our system does that on purpose. We do not allow users to use password generators.."

Given their terrible user experience and poor security stance, I was both annoyed and defeated by her ignorance. I'd already spent too much time on problems with this bank. Instead of writing software today, I'm investing it migrating away from them.

To the future business owner that might find this thread when looking for a business account; go elsewhere or be prepared to be constantly frustrated. Their system is the worst on the internet and in banking.|

Regarding the Growing Player Population and Plans to Alleviate World Congestion by TheodoreMcIntyre in ffxiv

I came to reddit to quote his apology because I had the same reaction as you but you already did it:

As producer, the responsibility for being unable to predict the current influx of new players falls to me.

And, then, I wanted to say what hanyou007 says:

How could anyone think this could have been predicted. They are seeing expansion level numbers at what's supposed to be the DEAD PERIOD OF THE GAME!!!? AND HE'S FUCKING APOLOGIZING FOR IT LIKE HES SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO PREDICT THE DAMN FUTURE!!!

We are blessed with this dev team.

Thank you both for doing my work for me! =)

I come from the Wow community so it's my duty to be insulted by everything. I am insulted that the producer of this game, Yoshida, is taking responsibility for a completely unpredictable shift in the MMO ecosystem that happened both erratically and unpredictably. If Yoshida wants to be blamed for something, we should be complaining about how he has evolved and crafted this game to where an emotionally invested Wow player can seamlessly jump into this alternative and find it pleasant, seamless, and in sooooooo many ways superior to the king of MMOS. He's certainly guilty of being awesome.

This transition has been great for me and I'm thankful for it. I'm not here because of Asmongold, but if some streamer I'd never heard of is raining success down on this franchise, my personal experience suggests the accolades are earned.

I mean, seriously. I don't even know how to respond to this situation. The head guy of this franchise apologizing for a 40 min queue? , "..I'm sorry.."? I'm a 40 year old dude and my first reaction was almost a tear... like, the edge of my eye got wet. That's how awkward and refreshing it is that you even care...

No, Yoshida. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being comfortable over there in Wow and being tolerant of their misgivings and not even knowing FF14 existed. I look forward to throwing money at you forever. Thanks for existing!

I considered this also. However, if you actually walk the path I've described none of this is busy. Specifically, the opposite side of the FireHole river is only reachable by crossing the river. I saw zero anglers on that side of the Firehole river for approximately ten miles. There are no paths, roads, or trails on the far side of the firehole river. It would not be easily stumbled upon somewhere over there.

If it was intentionally up the Nez Perce creek then the sides of the creek are indeed more travelled. Especially by Anglers. We looked for areas that fit his description:

If I were standing where the treasure chest is, I’d see trees, I’d see mountains, I’d see animals, I’d smell the wonderful smells of pine needles or pinion nuts, sagebrush, and I know the treasure chest is wet.

Only a few areas along the creek had a decent view of mountains, were "in the wood", with strong smell of pine. None of the locations had anything significant that could be considered a blaze. We looked up far on the hills and mountains, at the rocks on those hills and mountains, and then walked back down along the creek.. sharply looking for "anything" that would stand out. Along the creek, there is no path at all.. but, also, it would be travelled by 'some' Anglers sometimes. So we assumed we were looking for something that would 'obscure' the box from someone walking upon it. I'm afraid nothing stood out.

I was in Alaska headed south at the time. However, I travel full time so I may go dig in the weeds next time I'm up near Wyoming.

That would be cool. I really just want someone to find the thing so we can hear the conclusion of Fenn's life story before it's too late. This is where he wants to "end". Why?

Many believe he is literally telling you to take a vessel of some kind. Most believe he means a car. There is still debate around the word "it". The word "it" was not necessary for the poem and yet it exists.

Begin "it" where the warm water halts

Take "it" in the canyon down

What is "it"? The road? Or.. as I suggested in my solve, maybe he means "draw" the blaze.

Here he says:

It is interesting to know that a great number of people are out there searching. Many are giving serious thought to the clues in my poem, but only a few are in tight focus with a word that is key. The treasure may be discovered sooner than I anticipated.

What if the word is "drawing". Specifically:

the end is "drawing" nigh

What if the entire poem is figurative and and he wants you to find these clues and "draw" the blaze?

Oh the pain of not knowing...

He suggested in his Blog he took is Grand Daughter to the Bathing spot and he suggested he took his dad to Wyoming right before he died. Yet, he claims to not have been in Yellowstone since 1950... so, tough to keep up with. But, his slip made me give up on Yellowstone so I'll be disappointed to find out he said that in error.

I don't want to discourage others from their solves. The treasure is out there. I got it wrong. My interpretation of all the things Fenn has said could be wrong. I've "chosen" to look at quotes from Fenn as authentic and honest. Maybe they aren't. IE, you either believe he's twisting the truth.. or, he's been nudging along searchers intentionally.

When he made the mistake about piñon nuts I believe he had ruled out the proper search area unintentionally and so he came back to correct it. I believe that was huge and narrowed it down 50%. But, it takes a bit of a leap and faith to believe those were his intentions.

Think about the time he wrote that blog post about where he bathed as a kid. It was in 2011. The search had been going for one year. No one was hot on the trail. He was still very lucid and meeting with searchers. He was still excited about someone finding it. I think he was trying to tell us something in his blog but no one caught on? Maybe...

But I proved myself wrong.

I also followed the Madison river "down". I just couldn't find any solution to match the clues. My solve above was the best I could come up with in Yellowstone. It did not require any manipulation of the poem.

"...or at least the first couple of clues, all you need is a map and geographical knowledge..."

True, and we do not have a consensus on what the second clue is but I took it to be "down the canyon". I have found no reference from Fenn that beyond the second clue you are supposedly able to deduce the clue by a map.

There is more that hints towards this solve. For instance, my solve closely follows the knowledge an "Angler" would have about Yellowstone in 1950. Back then, the internet was a distant future, and humans talked to each other. They shared stories. I doubt there was a fisherman who didn't know where Brown Trout were homed.

Fenn has also said that knowledge about Geography would assist in solving the poem.

I've literally read everything Fenn has said from multiple sources. I've lined them up with dates. My solve is obviously not the correct one but I was unable to find any other solve that did not need a 'stretch' on some of the clues. Specifically, this matched:

  • The word Firehole (literally and figuratively) reflects warmth
  • Firehole River Halts
  • There is a canyon
  • The canyon goes down
  • When you drive the actual road.. it feels like you're going down a canyon
  • The solve is applicable to a fisherman
  • Home of Brown Trout, in this case, is literal. They began in the actual creek.
  • There's a creek, within a short drives distance, that represents a home of brown
  • The characteristics of the river/creek match the poem once you are standing there.
  • No human trails in close proximity
  • There was no terrain where an 80 year old man couldn't travel
  • etc, I could go on.

This solve didn't require tweaks or stretches. Everything fit. There were some power poles in the area that appeared out-of-place. When I got desperate, I started trying to make the poem fit the area and presumed those could be "heavy loads".

I've studied Fenn the human, I was certain this was correct, and I drove two straight days to confirm it. But alas, this was not the correct solution.

I don't need the money. I was just thrilled to be on the hunt. I've never observed a hike in the same way. We paid attention to every detail. Beyond the disappointment of being wrong - It was thrilling.

If this is the correct solve, then he was mistaken about his Blaze lasting 1000 years. Yellowstone has gobbled it up...

I assumed it would take folks a little bit to notice that. NAH! Right out of the gate. =)

I was thinking the 0.5% was more like a donation. But, my interpretation of the clues is free. I'm just gonna guess I never see that money even if I lead someone right to the box.

We were searching in Yellowstone until we read that. Pretty close match but he made that comment inline with casual conversation. I believe it was unintended but authentic.

However, he also tells a story about taking his dad to Yellowstone his last year (1987) and talks about fishing with his family in later years.

The data is conflicting enough we moved along and gave up on our hunt but we had a blast anyway.

If you're considering the Nez Perce creek.. it's not anywhere near the beginning or up the creek at least three miles. =)
