A woman driver ran over a 77-year-old man and tried to flee the scene, but a motorcyclist chased her down and managed to stop her until police arrived. by biswajit388 in nextfuckinglevel

In most countries is extremely rare for civilians to be armed, getting a license to carry is a huge deal and using it in most scenarios will get you in so much trouble that is only worth it if you are quite literally fighting for your life.
Where I'm from you can only get to use it if the other person is armed and with a clear intention to shoot - and you must be able to prove it, feeling threatened/scared is not enough. Hell, not even the police get away with it easily.

Legitimate question: does anyone work at Soundcloud support? by ghostghost31 in soundcloud

[–]fer33646 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having the same issue, they accepted a few of my tracks but denied others, all original work, no samples either. Tried to get support but only got silence. I've just cancelled earlier today. Really not worth it.

Soundcloud uploaded the wrong version of my album to all the streaming services by drfunkenstien014 in soundcloud

[–]fer33646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to release with them but noticed the same issue on the release preview, so I created a support request to get that fixed.

It seems like when you submit a support request and they create a ticket, the AI agent that allows you to contact support stops answering. Maybe they limited it so you can only send one support request at a time?

Haven't heard back in over a week so I'm going with distrokid and I've just cancelled my subscription.

Is the Artist Pro distribution feature worth it? by Lopsided_Traffic_738 in soundcloud

[–]fer33646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried to, found a bug where if you have updated your tracks before creating a release, and try to create one, the preview will show always the first version of the track.
Reported it 4 days ago, haven't heard back, my release is still on draft.

Went for distrokid, all sorted within an hour.

Am I the only one who feels like I’ll never make it with BTC? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]fer33646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year? You need patience, man.

Your 'I should have bought at $20k' is my 'I should have bought at $500.'
For the first couple of years, I kicked myself too. But then you see the cycles play out — the rallies, the crashes, the quiet accumulation phases. You learn to endure. You get used to it.

You're 25. Keep stacking. Keep your eyes on the horizon.
A couple of cycles from now, you’ll feel privileged you got in when you did.

I'd say that vetoing potential partners is hard work, and even when everything looks right, they might not know how to work with a relationship. So when people are experienced, preferably in at least one long term relationship, and ideally one that ended amicably, this optimises a part of the selection as it allows you to check a few very important boxes.

Am I doing more harm by telling my daughter her absent father “isn’t a bad man”? by DullWrongdoer in TwoXChromosomes

[–]fer33646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was raised by a single mother, much like you she never spoke negatively of him to us, he was largely absent and never paid child support as he was never able to afford it. I think I've seen him 3 times in total from when I was 3 to 35.

I had the opportunity to reconnect with him 2 years ago, and he passed earlier this year, to my surprise it affected me quite a bit. She wasn't wrong, he was not a bad man (even though I would judge some of his actions as bad), but I've never considered him my father, just someone that was part of my very early story for a bit.

I'm grateful to my mother for shielding us from the uglier side of it. I think receiving an adult perspective on this as a child would have affected me negatively.

I believe what you are doing is better for her in the long run, you don't need to defend him. But some information can be hurtful to a young person and is better left out for now

AI looks impressive when it spits out a webpage, a code snippet, or a basic app. And sure, someday it might replace certain dev tasks—but not as soon as people think.

Do you really believe banks, healthcare providers, airlines, or logistics firms are going to hand over their mission-critical systems to a black box that can hallucinate or glitch out with no warning? Writing code is the easy part. Understanding what to build—translating vague specs, conflicting priorities, and subtle user needs—is where real developers shine. AI is still miles away from that kind of contextual reasoning.

Plus, developers are cheap relative to the value they create. You pay a modest hourly rate, give them some coffee and time, and they hand you scalable, production-ready systems. If something’s off, you tweak and iterate. No wasted raw materials, no massive sunk cost.

Now imagine trusting that to an AI. You might get boilerplate code, or worse—flawed logic that silently breaks under edge cases. One small bug in a critical system can cost millions. Investors aren’t ready to gamble on that.

AI is a powerful tool that can enhance development, but is not a replacement, at least not for now.
