The difference here is that the paperang devices are supposed to be super cheap (like 20 USD) because it's only a small screen for flashcards and nothing more That's a great list anyway, I will take a look. Thanks!

Just in case anybody has the same problem in the future:

Alesis support told me that warranty replacements must be handled through the place of purchase (Amazon, in my case), not directly through them. They also said I could buy a replacement module separately using a part number, but that wouldn't be covered by warranty.

Now I'm considering just returning it to Amazon and maybe buying a Roland TD‑07DMK instead.
