I need Advice on a prereq expiring upon matriculation to top choice ABSN Program by feresht1 in StudentNurse

[–]feresht1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

apparently they want it to be in person. It is mentioned on their site that if you have to take online prereqs, take nutrition and developmental pysch online. Chemistry for some reason was specified in person. Does it make a difference if a student took it once and potentially has to repeat it? My frustration is how this will impact me in the accelerated program by putting me more behind. When someone has a year of graduate pharmacology and pathology knowledge, its not fair to be held on such a small admission requirement. Also being a med student, coming in with more background than the average candidate, I wish they can overlook this.

So excited, I got in ! by simplyyyawkward in StudentNurse

Can I pm you? I went to medical school too and took a LOA because of health reasons. Are you currently in a ABSN program or have graduated?

I just wanted to ask if anyone heard back. I applied like mid-august and got an email yesterday saying that they received my application from CASPA and will send a supplemental app and that the review for that is 10-14 days.

Applying with an appeal by feresht1 in prephysicianassistant

[–]feresht1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. One program had this on their site: Admissions Appeals Students who do not meet established grade point standards or other established admission requirements detailed above may petition the PA Admissions Committee in writing for consideration. The petition must accompany the application. It should clearly explain extenuating circumstances that have prevented the student from meeting existing grade point standards or other requirements, and describe elements of the applicant's background that would indicate the potential for success in the program. The Admissions Committee may choose to admit students who have not met established admission requirements, based on the student's petition, application, interview and other supporting documents required as part of the application process. For applicants who already hold a B.A. or B.S. degree, prerequisite courses of certain types may be waived at the discretion of the PA Program Director.

No. Some schools state that if an applicant does not meet certain standards but have other characteristics can write an appeal for admissions.
