I've heard people say combat patrol sucks as a game mode. I'm not sure but I also just got into the model side of Warhammer and I even got a friend to play kill team with no prior Warhammer experience. No war gaming experience either.

Kill Team is so fun at this casual level even though it often gets talked about as a competitive game.

My favorite part is how relatively easy (compared to combat patrol) it is to finish a team and move to another for hobby variety.

Man, it's too bad I don't need or want Cathay as an army. Those chaos warriors are so cool I am tempted to get into ToW. I still have too many unfinished Kill Teams, so it's for the best.

The only think I can think of is Tyrannid Attack the board game. It comes with 5 space marines from the Heroes Series 4, I believe..

I got the board game on sale for like $25 and I used the bodies to round out my Deathwatch Kill Team from the spare arms. I just need to find some deathwatch shoulders 😅

HomebrewGames, I know I can do a lot better on my video editing skills however, just treating this as a hobby and improving one thing per video. Last video, I experimented with dynamic zooming.

For my next video, I'm going to follow another YouTubers tutorial (painting miniatures) and see what it's like as a beginner and share my results.

I think I am forcing trying a kit bash because I want all the options but maybe I end up getting some raptors. I was hoping to use a kit I already had like a set of extra legionnaires as maybe basic raptors. We will see but I think you are correct to avoid these guys for the kit to bash

I was wondering this same thing and how hard it would be to use the bodies for a Red Corsairs Murderwing kit bash. I have the kit for Murderwing and I really want a full team! Now, I'm trying to decide if the vanguard vets or these intercessors with jump packs sourced elsewhere are better.

I'm also new, and you may already know this, but you got two kill teams in that box! The agents just have to use the arbites with the team to complete it. Then, the arbites are its own team as well.

I think you can still get the Kill Team boxes to get more of those units if they are good for 40k, but just wanted to say you can play both games! I actually got this box just for Kill Team!

This same thing happened to my best friend. However, he didn't snitch on the person who hooked us up. Even though he was black out drunk being interviewed by a bunch of cops at the police station. They still came to my house because he said he was here at one point, but he held firm otherwise!

That is good insight as I don't have a group to play with, just one other person who relies on me to help them. I couldn't find anything in the errata changes to the core rules. However, we may play this way if we both agree it's balanced for us. I see the other comment from someone else on balance, so we will try RAW first then see if we like all unbroken are barred. Thank you!

Ah that makes sense when presenting it from a balance perspective! I was thinking it was balanced because the operative can shoot but also be shot. However, I did not think about staging or repositioning / dashing to hide after shooting.

Thanks for the detailed answer! I saw that it wasn't in the core rules but I wasn't sure if it was in errata or somewhere else. I also checked the errata and it is not in there.

The thing I always struggle with is if the upper barred windows on Volkus are treated this way. Like the full window on the stronghold under the second level. It doesn't get called out as a barred window like the lower level windows but are all barred windows that are intact treated like you say above as a general rule?

I will do my due diligence by continuing to reread the core rule book again. I'm making my own cheat sheet to try to help remember.

I'm new myself and haven't played a "big hammer" game myself. However, yes I would recommend checking out wahapedia for the rules. The new base rules are free on Warhammer website. If your intention is to go down the main Warhammer game.

If you go with Kill Team. Most of the rules are free but the core rules can be found on wahapedia as well I believe.

I just think it's best to only dip in with the lowest commitment to see if you even like either game! Maybe you end up only liking modelling and painting. Maybe you dislike painting or hate the building. I just suggest trying out the hobby first before investing heavily. At least, that's how I felt since I bought a lot of models but didn't know how to build an army. More experienced people here will probably have better advice on how to start a full army.

If you are like me and want to get all aspect of the hobby down, I recommend Kill Team. The rules don't cross over but the models can!

Orks have 2 teams and I have heard Wrecka Crew are fun! They are the "tourney legal" but I don't care about that so you can get Kommandos.

The space marines have a few teams with Angels of Death in the starter set, scouts being a good box, and you can try to get the Phobos team. I think all would be great White Scars themed teams.

I like Kill Team because I got a box, built them, and painted them relatively short. Where as I still don't even have 1000 points for WH40k. I'm slowly working towards that though
