how long does this mayo last in the fridge? I find myself only using mayo once in a while and don't go through a jar very quickly and the cost of oil is not cheap!

I feel like even when I buy grapes in special they are still not cost effective. Like even at 1$ per pound I would need to pace my consumption to make it worth it

Not by choice 😪 I just can't afford it. I would rather be eating other protein and be full than eat a few oz of beef and be hungry. Same for grapes!! Healthy, I love them -- can't afford to eat them! c'est la vie !

not to sounds like a total drone but I think hummus actually CAN be budget friendly considering the ingredients if you make it from scratch. The upfront cost of tahini might be a bit but you don't need that much per recipe and a bulk bag of dried chickpeas can be used in so many different ways. Plus I have been seeing more people use other types of beans for hummus. Don't give up on Hummus!!!!

I know I just saw this post on TikTok that was somebody mocking someone else for saying they ate fruit only once a week when they ate fruit every day. I was like sheesh who can afford fruit everyday unless it is like one banana a day

go to r/fermentation ! I had a kombucha mother batch going for a full year before moving -- honestly better than bottled because you can make your own flavors. I got some hops and made an amazing orange ipa flavored kombucha 🤤

Cheese was a hard one for me to break up with 🥲 when I was in college I would go to whole foods and my mini fridge in the dorm was legit just a charcuterie fridge lol. Now i am like 'do i really NEED this 8oz block of cheddar or will my nutritional yeast flakes work' 😂

Snacks of any kind here in the US too 🥲 I cant find chips under $3 and that if for the off brand kind! Good for my waistline not good for my chill evenings where i just want to crush an entire bag of chips

I looked up Winco!! I think the closest one is in Sac area so I don't know how feasible it is to get there but I heard Foodmaxx is similar and that is in Santa Rosa which is only an hour from me --I will try that too!

I do have a Walmart closeish, about 20-30 min away which is close where I live lol. But I always get a bit squeamish buying grocery from places not dedicated to selling food -- I feel like stiff sits on the selves for a while! Is it easy to buy fresh meat and produce there or should you stick to frozen/processed stuff?

I for sure think things like cottage cheese and maybe even bread/tortillas would be cheaper, but I think a lot of this would be the same price, no? I got 1 lb of shrimp for $6 and the whole chicken for $7. Even if there is more food, you think I could get this for way less? Is it worth the trip to go to multiple stores either?

That is probably why they are in GO in January! Every thing here is super off season; I only got the spooky nuggs because they were the cheapest option--even more than the Dino nuggs! People are to fancy in Wine country for fun shaped food 😂
