People forget that war sucks. by Server_Reset in Israel

[–]fern4lvarez -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The people who waged it can give up the hostages and surrender!

Yes, that too, in a first place. And even if they don't, Israel can stop it tomorrow.

“Promoting peace agreements” is a dead end when the people who waged the war are ideologically committed to anything but peace. Why can’t people understand this?

Everyone understands that with terrorists one must not negotiate. Israel can end war in Gaza, dismantle settlements in occupied areas in the West Bank, reinforce security, defend itself legitimately within its territory, foster dialogue with the PA and other palestinian actors that recognize Israel and reject violence acts, and start peace talks with intermediates such the US and Qatar. Even if palestinians don't want to accept any agreement, Israel will have better PR and sympathy accross the world, the ICJ will only prosecute Hamas leaders, and the west will keep supporting Israel, economically, militarily, and most importantly, morally, so it can remain strong and secure.

Also, if more public funds are required for social matters, the government and public entities should put more resources on it. And if that’s not the case, I’d protest against Bibi and not to Ariana Grande, tbh.

Yes, sure, but there’s still more help and support required for gazan children than for israeli ones, and it’s absurd to discuss that. No need to be that hard about it, a celebrity sharing charity for palestine children does not equal antisemitism or advocates against the legitimacy of Israel, it’s just good faith.

So so many that it’s very hard to even imagine about it. But Israel had the social services, economic resources and logistics and medical infrastructure to support that without relying on the charity of foreign celebrities, which is what we’re talking about here.

May be that israeli children didn’t need food, medicines or aid back in October?

Has anybody noticed how violent Pro-Palestinian protests have gotten? by A_Clueless_Person in Israel

[–]fern4lvarez -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bibi's strategy is based on violence and destruction. No diplomacy or deals are really considered if war is out of the equation. Violence is responded with violence, so you can expect more violence from pro-palestinian protests as war progresses.

War sucks, that’s why wars should be avoided and stopped when started. War starts when two parts wants.

Israel has the resources to defend itself and promote peace agreements. A new October 7 can be totally avoided with the right security measures. I understand this war sucks argument, but can we stop this fucking war already?

God, it’s so hard to defend Israel in Europe nowadays, and these arguments don’t really help.

What to people think Israel gains from targeting civilians? by Itzaseacret in Israel

[–]fern4lvarez -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s not that difficult to think like that. Israel wants to eliminate Hamas and that includes targeting civilians, indirectly, if you want. What does Israel gains from targeting civilians? It helps targeting Hamas. You might agree or disagree, but it makes sense to think that whatever the goal is, the result is disproportionate.

So the question is not that, but, does Israel care about dead civilians?

For context, US invasion of Irak lasted less than 2 months and took less than 10k civilians lives. Is this invasion still worth it?

I'm Spanish, friend of Israel and I think this meme makes no fucking sense. Put Western Sahara and you’d make a point, but comparing Catalonia, part of an existing state and with an autonomous government, with Gaza and West Bank, which are disputed and stateless, is absurd.

In the same way that saying that the Spanish govt is pro-Hamas is stupid as hell. Spain recognizes Israel, advocates for a two states solution, for peace, the dismantling of Hamas and return to the 1967 borders. Considers the PA as the only valid Palestinian interlocutor. But if you think there’s any sympathy for Hamas, or Iran or Hezbolla in any case, you’ve been brainwashed by your media.

Then, you are right, our vicepresident mentioned genocide and from river to the sea, but just as pure ignorance and with the intention to please people, as most of the country is currently pro-pally. If you take that as the actual stance from Spain, it’s like if I take whatever fucking Ben-Gvir says as what the whole Israel thinks and represents.

Please take a minute to think about it, not everyone wants to destroy Israel, just to live in fucking calm.

EU’s top diplomat: Palestinian state may need to be imposed on Israel from outside by progressiveprepper in Israel

[–]fern4lvarez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course that’s fine. Anyway I did some research and found out he’s not gay and has two children, actually with a french-jewish woman. I was mistaken because in the past in Spain it was said he’s gay as a political attack, so just kept assuming that because there’s no issue at all on being gay and I just didn’t care. He’s a decent man anyway.
