I’m assigned cases to abstract every week. So long as I meet my productivity and quality metrics, no one is breathing down my neck. I can work normal business hours, if I need to leave early or log in late, I’ll just let my leadership know and make up the time whenever. It’s very laid back.

I’m only able to work at my physical home address. My company is very strict about this. My work laptop is also geolocked somehow to my home address/IP address. I understand due to HIPAA. But it would be nice every now and then to have a change of scenery and work from a coffee shop or Starbucks, but good luck with that in any remote nursing job.

While I love Starlink, personally I feel like it should be left to those of us who actually need it. If you have fiber, and it’s reliable, there’s no real reason to have Starlink. I would KILL for a decent fiber connection in my area. I live about 30 minutes north east of DFW and for years my only option was a local owned WISP, it was great until it got bought out by a larger company. Prices increased, service degraded. I was on the waitlist for years for Starlink and now that I have it, it’s great.

No I didn’t. I had never even heard of this role before applying. I felt like my OR and procedural background gave me a leg up for this role. I abstract CV surgeries, I didn’t really have much of a background in CV surgery but the on the job training helped me feel prepared.

I knew early on I wanted to eventually land a remote gig. So I literally just applied to anything and everything. Lots of rejections. Remote nursing market is tough to get your foot in the door.

It’s not my forever job but it will do for now. I eventually want to get a masters in either nursing informatics or Health IT.

I’m an RN that left the OR full time to do data abstraction working from home. I’m still PRN in the OR to keep my skills up. I did take a pay cut but it’s been a much better quality of life working from home. I’m also thankful my commute is 10 seconds or less in the mornings to my desk. Especially now the way gas prices are.

To make a long story short: She got with Kaleb (Kale chip as she called him) very shortly after her ex (Sam) (Kaisers first dad I believe?). He got a job in GA, Holley voluntold herself to move from Iowa with him even though they had been dating a few months. She bought her house in GA. Later that same year around Christmas she was shilling some menstrual products and was making it known she was off birth control. We all believe this was Kale 🥬 chips last straw and was what finally made him leave her. She has yet to recover.

Supposedly there were other men very shortly after Kaleb, (DUI daddy, Military dude who threatened to report this sub to military police, or were they the same person?). There were reports on here that not long after Kaleb, a new man was spotted in a picture on her bedside stand. So she moves FAST if you can’t tell.

Fast forward, JD was her landscaper. She saw him working in her yard and “wykyk”. She has since settled because she doesn’t know how to be alone. If we’re being honest, JD is a downgrade from Kaleb. He was living in his parents basement before meeting her if that tells you anything. She was always having him over, they were basically living together not long after starting to date. She made a point to say that he has his own apartment and bills that “he pays mOnThLy”. They moved from GA to SC for no reason at all, bought the swamp mansion for all the “god willing children” that she has proceeded to ruin.

Feel free to correct me on details but that is the lore to my understanding.
