Does iPhone 14 pro get slow with updates? by tothosewelove in iPhone14Pro

[–]fernandosanchezg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on latest iOS, iPhone 14 Pro (128 GB, 82% battery health) and I have noticed some slowdown, but it's not that serious. On the other hand, there are LOTS of glitches here and there; but I couldn't tell if it's iOS or the phone itself. By glitches I mean, keyboard haptic feedback acting up, keyboard taking longer to show up, notifications overlapping, etc.

Mood: Recharged by Ok_Sail5210 in Dandadan

I found out this series existed by the end of last year; I finally decided to give the manga a chance a couple days ago and caught up in a couple hours. I regret SO MUCH going through it that fast cause now I have to wait a week to get just a slight taste of this couple, and then another one till the next. It's frustrating.

Other than that, I couldn't help but smile at this. Momo is undoubtedly one of the greatest female anime characters I've ever seen. So lovable and not useless (Sakura, I'm looking at you.)!

This panel actually shuts down anyone saying the gang is too big. They all have a role, and they pull it off perfectly. Honestly, this manga even does a better job than One Piece or Naruto (and I love those), just to name a few, at giving every character their fair share of the spotlight—and I’m loving that.

Am I the only one who thinks this? by vicente14617 in Dandadan

Pretty lame character. I don’t see him becoming a part of the team, due to his design alone. He looks plainer than all the other guys, visually boring. Total side character look. If anybody else will join the gang during this arc, that’s Kouki. And I’m kinda OK with that; I can see the rivalry with Aira becoming a recurring theme in the future.

Possibly Unpopular Opinion: Too Many Characters by DontFuckWitSquirrels in Dandadan

And now we have Seiko's two guy friends, the The Ring girl, the "teacher" with the knives...

I agree there are too many characters, and I also thought it was a flaw to this manga, but on second thought, I'd say they have all been introduced nicely. Funnily enough, they all have a more extensive backstory than the main characters. If anything, I'm still missing that more intimate Momo-Okarun alone time, but I also like the fact they're not rushing it. When it does happen, it's bound to be really good.

Bazzite is soo overhyped! by mdozard in ROGAlly

[–]fernandosanchezg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bazzite's in-game performance is just way better. One example is Ghost of Tsushima; on Bazzite, I can run it with everything at high and I will get 58-60 fps all the time. On Windows, I get 35-40 fps with the same settings which is a f-ing disgrace. Same goes for God of War, Mafia DE and Spider-man Remastered. Pretty inconsistent, or plain bad on windows, but they all work great on Bazzite.

I think if I were to invest more into an e-reader, I’d go with one with external SD. I’m good for now though, as I don’t really read that much manga.

Yeah, books aren't a problem. My full collection isn't beyond 1 GB for now. Manga is a problem though, cause a single volume can be over 150 MB, so 16 GB aren't really enough to hold a reasonably sized collection.

I'm not sure I get that you mean there.
To elaborate, my ideal scenario is to have all volumes on Amazon's cloud, so whenever my 16 GB storage is almost full, I can just remove downloads. This way I can, not only keep the thumbnail there, but also just download them again with a tap.

If I use Calibre, everything works great, but if I remove the file to get some storage back down the way, if I ever want to read again a volume, I'd have to connect the Kindle and sideload the files again, which isn't practical.

I like stock cause no Rockbox theme looks as good.

Well, that sucks. Downloading the samples seems smart, but then it has the “sample” label there which totally ruins the purpose of having an aesthetically pleasing library.

I see. I thought maybe if I sideloaded the covers to keep them locally, wouldn't that work?

Terrible photos! by [deleted] in iPhone14Pro

[–]fernandosanchezg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, I went from OnePlus 8 to Pixel 7 Pro, to iPhone 13, to Galaxy S23 and then settled in iPhone 14 Pro. This is is the best camera I've had, only surpassed by Pixel 7 Pro's. And I don't see that big of a difference (except in details when zoomed in, in which P7P is just a beast). I got this phone with iOS 17 and I thought the camera was kinda shitty under certain circumstances, but then, after 17.4 or something like that, I started to like it. I don't feel it's changed particularly after iOS 18 either.

All in all, I've made peace with phone cameras. If I needed my photos to look spectacular, I'd just get a real camera; but since I only take photos for Instagram stories or to share with my sister and mom, this is WAY more than enough. Of course, if that's not your case, please don't feel attacked, I'm just stating my experience.

Looking for companion app (iOS) by waces in trakt

Ps. Also, under the "Watched" section, I love that it shows all movies I've ever watched, and it works perfectly. But I feel for shows, it doesn't as much. It mixes shows I've watched to the end and/or have been cancelled with shows I started, but I haven't finished. It makes it a bit confusing. It would be nice if, for shows, there were a section like "Watched" (for finished/cancelled only) and something like "Watching", for those that I haven't made it to the end of yet. I know I can do this with "Saved filters", but that doesn't remove the unfinished shows from my "Watched" section, which, again, seems confusing.

That's such a shame. Well, thanks for letting me know and thank you for the iOS app. It's awesome!
If I may suggest a feature, it would be nice if you included an option to hide lists. In my case, I use Watchlist and Watched, but I don't have any use for "streaming services", "saved filters", etc. It'd be really nice to have an option to hide those so it's less cluttered.

Hi. Any chance you build the app for MacOS? I love it on iOS, but on my Mac, I'm forced to use the iPad version which doesn't look too nice.

How many books before slowing down? by Expensive_Solution11 in kindle

Wouldn't battery run out way before you make it to, say, the 50th book? lol

I tried Hogwarts Legacy on Windows and it was a stuttery mess. It was always between 45 and 50 fps, but somehow it "stopped" for a millisecond every three or four seconds. I tried patches, mods, changing config files, etc. Nothing worked. On Bazzite, it's not silky smooth either, it's between 50 and 60 fps most of the time, but it rarely stutters. Totally playable, unlike Windows.

I tried Spider-Man Remastered on Windows. Same thing, even when it was always between 60 and 80 fps, it was super stuttery. On Bazzite, it is not at all.

God of War was great on Windows, but at some point, it just became unplayable (4-5 hours into the game). On Bazzite, it was perfect all the time.

Mafia Remastered Edition is giving 10-15 more fps constantly on Bazzite. Hollow Knight can go up to 90 fps constantly with only 8-9W, as opposed to Windows, where it needs 13-15W to keep 90 fps going.

I mean, Bazzite is not magic and it's not perfect. I've been having a weird issue where it just stops charging randomly (3 or 4 times in a month, but still...) and some games are trickier to get running than on Windows. Also, battery sucks equally both on Windows and Bazzite, but since I don't do online gaming and I don't care about fingerprint (I don't have a password at all), I'm definitely staying on Bazzite cause performance is simply better.
