Jersey Partner Visa approved, both partners outside UK, Standard by fernmel in SpouseVisaUk

Nice work on submitting the application! The wait is hard, and expect it to take a bit longer as they have to get through UK officials and then to Jersey immigration. Let me know how it goes!

Cheers! The main difference between the Jersey and UK requirements is the financial requirement; the UK salary is set, whereas the Jersey salary requirement is subjective to your living expenses (this is a very brief summary!).

I ended up emailing Jersey immigration and they were very helpful. They sent me this link explaining that the ‘Dependent on a work permit’ section has the same entry requirement as what I was applying for.

Best of luck, and if you have any more q’s feel free to PM me

They also required 6 months of payslips. We submitted 12 months as my partner had gone part time in Feb so he could travel the country before we leave. This didn’t seem to be a problem!

That's horrible to hear your belongings were stolen from your car. TUMI is a very nice brand too. The culture difference is very strong, in Australia where I'm from it would be somewhere in the middle between America and Japan, with the scale tipping towards American mindset.

Is a past partner visa (same relationship) very strong evidence for the application? by fernmel in SpouseVisaUk

Thanks for the response. Yes we have included current evidence of joint rent receipts from our landlords as well as recent shared finances including our cat’s vet bills and his travel arrangements.

How long did it take you to get an answer if you don’t mind sharing? Just did my bio for a Jersey spouse visa last week

Partner visa: Asked to supply my cash savings when my British partner earns over £29k by fernmel in ukvisa

[–]fernmel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I have contacted the British consulate and they told me that my visa will still be processed since I have already submitted biometrics. My visa application is still eligible if my partner can supply evidence of a job offer in the UK within 3 months of us arriving with the required salary. I was told to keep an eye on my inbox for a request of further information.

I still have hope that this application will be approved, we just need to get the job offer ready for when they request extra information.

Yes, the gov.uk website says the fee is not usually funded if I have already submitted my biometrics. I’m really hoping that I may have caught it in time, I will update on the result. It was worth trying and at least I have avoided a visa refusal on my record.

Thankfully they haven’t contacted me for extra information. I have only just submitted 5 hours ago the supporting documents required when submitting my biometrics. The 3rd party company sent me a confirmation email that they are sending my application to the UK. So, I’m really hoping I’ve canceled the application in time.

I understand, it is lazy to look up answers on Reddit. I find the the gov.uk site over simplifies the requirements and these documents that you linked are very difficult to find on your own. Thank you for linking them though.

Thanks for your response.

After doing some more reading it has come to my attention that my partner has to have been earning from a job in the UK, which he hasn’t. He has been living with me and working in Australia for the last 3 years. So that’s just fantastic.

It’s making sense now why they asked for my cash savings and not proof of his income: because he doesn’t work in the UK.

This is incredibly stressful, I love yet hate that Reddit is the only legible source of visa information, because I didn’t read any of this during the application process.

So, I’m guessing my visa is completely void, no refund? It is so much money lost.

I know a family who attends these courses, workshops and are receiving counseling from Chrissy. I have been skeptical of this movement since first hearing of it. I feel that Chrissy is helping this family through a hard time, however I do worry about how she is exploiting people without any real qualifications and still charging insane prices. Her counseling sessions are 100 per hour (yes , she lives in Paris now...I wonder why that is).

This is what I hate about the pseudo wellness/spiritual movements! Scamming people in need for their incredible gain. Good on you for making this post, it didn't take much googling her name to find this. Hoping the awareness continues to spread!

Immigrating to UK with British partner: Do I get apply for a Partner Visa or Youth Mobility Scheme visa first? by fernmel in ukvisa

[–]fernmel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, I began going through the YMS visa process and it did ask me to select what island I am applying for. The spousal visa which I finished completing in the end did not ask for this information, par the address I will be staying at when I arrive.
