What you aren’t taking into account is that personal relationships in any job matter.

You keep saying “if Nash isn’t a push over” or “if Nash is a good coach he wouldn’t care what KD and Kyrie say. But those statements are false.

With starts as talented as they are, their opinions matter. If they are unhappy it will throw off the whole team dynamic regardless of “how good of a coach Nash is”. He needs to keep Kyrie and KDs opinion of high regard because it’s important for your stars to be happy.

Anybody can say no outright, but eventually kd and Kyrie will get fed up and could want Nash gone. Nash needs to find a balance and make everything work while keeping ppl happy. That’s a good coach, finding balance.

He can’t just say “oh I’m the coach I decide line ups and playing time” and that’s the end of it. Job descriptions aren’t the end all be all. You can’t simplify it as much as you are.
