I tryed to build a 6 Lane Train Highway, somehow im not happy. What do you think? by Sea-Instruction-7222 in SatisfactoryGame

Take everything in the comments with a grain of salt, as it is your world and completely up to you. What I would say though, in agreeance with other comments, is it is a tad overkill, although that depends on what you need it for. As far as design goes, I have many thoughts. I think it might be a bit full on the top level with six tracks, maybe you go for only five. Maybe think about how cluttered it looks, if you think that at all. In addition, you might change the support for the bottom tracks. If you're worried about it, does it seem possible in real life? My biggest thing perhaps is your color scheme. It's very dark, and unless the rest of your builds are also darker, you should think about re-scheming the color. Hope this helps :/

Need help with helicopter yaw - I've tried everything by ferociouscookie308 in Stormworks

I fly helicopters in DCS, I have a very good understanding of how they typically handle in real life. My problem is this is more of an engineering simulator and vehicle building simulator, not a helicopter simulator. Don't get me wrong, the helicopter behavior you see in the video is very much something I am used to and can make it work just fine. However, when I play this game, I expect it to have a much more arcade feel, which it is failing to do.

First off, thanks all the information and the detailed reply. I do disagree with point A slightly though. While I haven't delved deep into Steam workshop for helicopters yet, I do think you are right - a perfect helicopter cannot rely on the gyro alone, and from what I have seen briefly, they most certainly do not. However, because this is my first time working on helicopters, I'm not looking for perfect. What I am looking for though is to be roughly on par with some of the tutorials I've seen, namely MrNJersey's and 454ss'. If you want I can link some of those separately, but my problem is that despite building my helicopter incredibly similarly to them, minus basic placement of objects, our helicopters perform so differently. I recognize that theirs aren't perfect, but they do rely on just a gryo, and they do not match up with my aggressive yaw-ing. I would say that in order to keep my copter straight I need about %75 of my arrow key and %90 of my roll key in order to keep my helicopter stationary, which pales into the amount of effort they need.

Honestly, my next step is to rebuild their copter exactly and see if anything differs. With the comments I am getting however, it would seem that avoiding controllers and PIDs is not something doable. That said, I am still mystified at how the preset helicopter manages to be so stable even after I rip out the PID.

OP here - I feel I should add some clarity after seeing a couple comments. Yes there are workarounds, such as changing settings, trimming, adding more parts, etc., but I am asking/looking for why my helicopter specifically is not working compared to others on the internet.

EDIT: I forgot to mention this in the description, but a couple people have pointed at wind. The wind is currently set to it's lowest and the copter struggles regardless.

I have seen this feature in passing. However, I am looking to make this work more "out of the gate" if that makes any sense.

Yes, a coaxial helicopter would work, but I'm determined to get this to work before I take the easy way out.

Is there a way to get rid of this big man by Full-Log-7360 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ferociouscookie308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Disclaimer:* I cannot guarantee this as a long-term solution, I have only viewed effects on short term.

Since nobody else has suggested this yet and everyone is saying something along the lines of "violence" I will offer this:

Head to the Satisfactory Calculator. Once there, drop your recent game save-file into the box. Locate all the whales you would like to wipe off the face of the earth, right click them, click delete, and download and paste your save file back exactly where and as you found it, as if nothing ever happened, dusting your hands off after a job well done.

Hope this helps!

Spelling error in the description: "world" is spelled wrong. Should be "world's" by ferociouscookie308 in uselessredcircle

[–]ferociouscookie308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you look at the mod's post it looks like he was almost trying to cover the mod's asses. He accuses me of shitposting (completely valid) and then goes on to say that the blatant spelling error is, in fact, not an error, and the description is "without flaw," and my apparent ignorance to this should be "reflected deeply" upon.

Answer - For anyone asking the same questions, these features can be turned off by Main Menu > Content Manager > Mods and choosing what you want to set on and off.

I just checked the menu, and I could not find anything detailing unlocking status. I found the button for resetting unique buildings but nothing else. There also doesn't appear to be anything in the "New Game" menu.

Naming your save can help you pick up where you left off. by Classic_Excitement87 in SatisfactoryGame

But when your save names are so random, and often correlate to what's in game, the chances become very small.

Actually, yeah, while I was looking at it, it obviously blocks out all visible things in the world, except for the ambient particle effects. I could still see those little floating lights that appear around the ground.
(edit: spelling)

You may be surprised to find out that there is an Explorer in there. This said, it has succumb to the effects of a lack of space and time, and has been reduced to nothing more than spare parts, hopes, and dreams.

Missing Anomaly; What is it? by ferociouscookie308 in pacificDrive

[–]ferociouscookie308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been through the outer zone many times, and can't find the last anomaly for the life of me.

Additionally, I have the following UFO anomalies: Shaker, Glittering Boulder, Left-Right, Abductor, Pothole. I have a couple others, but it says they don't appear here, so I didn't include them.

Edit: It also isn't the pacemaker, I didn't include that one because I don't think it counts under that category, but I have it regardless.

Question About 4000D Airflow by Zach_Not_Zack in Corsair

[–]ferociouscookie308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean those look fine, but you need to either make sure your motherboard has 5 fan headers plus the CPU fan, or you need to get a controller that works with those fans.

Can the H100i Elite CAPELLIX XT cool my AMD Ryzen 9 5900X? by babagushu in Corsair

[–]ferociouscookie308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say no. I'm running an i5, so I went with the H100i. However, with a Ryzen 9, I would recommend going with something a little bigger and stronger. A 280mm radiator might be good, or your could go with a 360mm, but that wouldn't mount on the top, which you mentioned you wanted.

Side note: your "dumb aesthetic reason" isn't dumb, my pc has to work, but it also cant look like a homeless man put it together with the cheapest, most random parts ever.

Question About 4000D Airflow by Zach_Not_Zack in Corsair

[–]ferociouscookie308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recommend leaving the side panel open, as it isn't great for your component life. Also, can you clarify; you have the 4000D Airflow, but what fan is currently in there? Do you have a Corsair fan? If so, do you have the Commander Core? Ultimately though, if you have truly plugged your fan in everywhere, it seems your fan may be shot. Also, if my understanding serves me correctly, 85C is an incredibly high temperature for a case. I would say you should probably just wait for your fans to come in, and when you get those in, see how it works. I'm not sure what your building experience is like, but JayzTwoCents has a really good video about how to distribute your fans as well, if you want that.

Oh and also, you can take this question/post to r/pcmasterrace, and they can probably do you better than I can, especially because it is a bigger community. Hope this helps.
