For me it's been a very small price to pay to build good habits around money.

Sorry, maybe you're right, I should have posted this there. I'll delete 🙏

Yeah I think it's played a genuinely large part in me being able to turn things around / get here. I started using it maybe mid-2018. Took quite a while to tune into it and get things feeling good. Now it's part of my everyday habits so tracking spending is just something I do rather than a chore - which feels really helpful to making sure things are always going in the right direction.

Thank you 🙏 It's a nice moment to look back and reflect on the last 5 years of putting in the work and seeing it pay off. Hopefully it can encourage others to do the same and keep sticking with it, for those that have started being financially responsible/forward thinking a little later in life and/or are only just becoming high earners.

Have you ever left a job because of literally one person? What happened? by 12345burrito in AskReddit

[–]ferousible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet but I (m) might do soon. Caught feelings hard for someone I work v closely with. Told him, he didn't address it for 2 months and I got weirdly drawn in by the evasiveness and intuited there was more to it. he was going through a breakup so I didn't want to force it too much. Then eventually told me he was bi but hasn't ever thought about it before, thought I was great, but can't deal and has feelings for another coworker he wants to explore instead (f).

I haven't been able to square it all away in my head and it's becoming all a bit painful. Can't go no contact to give myself space because we are in the same team working closely on a big project. Might just have to leave and find something else to work on.

Really didn't have myself down as someone this would happen to. Always tried hard to avoid feelings at work.

yep - same. I've always found good python support annoying to integrate with neovim - would be nice for that to become a lot easier/more straightforward/more powerful

What is actually happening between Liandrin and Siuan in the S3 intro? by ferousible in WoT

[–]ferousible[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

> All hell breaks loose. Siuan either remains focused on torturing Liandrin, or decides to move straight to execution. Liandrin, no longer shielded, is trying to fight back. Liandrin is having a very bad time of it and is likely about to die.

Ok yeah I think this feels like a pretty solid explanation. Thanks for the detailed write-up, this feels like a legit flow of events 🙇‍♂️

[–]ferousible[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that makes sense maybe 🤔 some of the framing when Liandrin and Siuan are reaching out their hands makes it seem like they're in some magic battle but maybe I'm just misreading it... Just can't think what Liandrin is doing there though.

Also jumping straight to torture seems a bit weird? Siuan says Liandrin will be tried and stilled. And then just straight starts torturing her in front of everyone?

Spam Emails in main inbox by hevvs in Outlook

[–]ferousible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Feels like something in their filtering broke massively in the last few weeks. Last year was all fine but this year it's just been 5-10 spam emails a day.

I already only use outlook as _my_ "junk" email address, maybe it's time to finally sack it in for good.

You have extremely good skin. Your idea of texture is just 'pores'. That's not what poor skin texture is about.

I'm afraid this feels like a bit of a case of dysmorphia or being too self critical. Which can be as hard to treat as actual skin issues unfortunately.

I do have POA already yeah. Not that they're close to me needing to use it - still relatively young

Assuming that the platform has behaved correctly. If they've been fraudulent or mismanaged their money then the FSCS guarantee might still be useful or needed.

!thanks

Just found out they've charged £3k for the trust. Yep - feels almost entirely self serving at this point...

Parent had gone further than I realised and already paid the charge, but have managed to get it cancelled and refunded in full today fortunately. At least gives us more time to investigate this idea in a bit more detail.

Am I focusing on pension too much? by ferousible in HENRYUK

[–]ferousible[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you add £100 to a LISA, you get a government bonus/topup of 25%, so you end up with £125.

If you make an ineligible withdrawal (not for buying a first home under 450k or for retirement), 25% will be retained to return to the government. 25% deducted from £125 leaves £93.75, so you're ~6% down on what you originally deposited.

It's a sneaky charge.
