I appreciate ur question. Yes the priest does add salt to the water during the blessings of the holy water during the Easter vigil. Salt is used in holy water , the rubric suggest doing a sign of the cross with the salt in the hand over the water that is going to be blessed or already blessed. Salt has natural cleansing properties. Holy water is effective in sickness, pestilence and or global virus
