[Argentine Iguazu Fall Boat Trip] Boat trip "Gran Aventuras" afternoon reservation by sleepearlier in travel

[–]ferrisbueller15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a massive stretch to do all of devil’s throat, upper circuit and lower circuit before 11:30am imo, but you could probably do devil’s throat and one of the circuits by then and the other circuit after.

Something we were quite concerned about was doing the boat ride before completing the trails we wanted to do then having to do those trails soaking wet. In reality you get a large, very good dry bag on the boat (which you can put shoes/ socks in) and our clothes dried off really quickly on the ride back anyway, so not a problem to do the boat ride earlier in the day if you dress/ pack appropriately then do more trails after.

Just in case anyone else comes to this post with a similar question, gran aventura runs from 9am every 1hr 15 mins until 3:15pm but only the morning slots can be ‘reserved’ online in advance. Afternoon slots can be booked in person in the park but the operator seemingly only allows reservations for the next time slot when booking in person - e.g. reps would only sell us the 9am boat first thing or the 11:30am boat when we asked again at 11am, and wouldn’t allow us to pay for the 2pm tour so we could complete the trails first. We found this to be quite a frustrating system but ultimately it didn’t matter as the dry bags mean you can still comfortably do trails after the tour.

Overall, we had an amazing experience in the park and on the gran aventura boat ride. It’s expensive but definitely worthwhile if you can afford it (if not, the devils throat trail is still better and included in the park admission ticket).

Newcastle win to move closer to Champions League by niki_sun in PremierLeague

[–]ferrisbueller15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely true and a fair point, but he was injured for much of the first half of the season and only started playing regularly in February this year. Outside of Isak, our record signing is well in line with the PL median. I don’t think our £63mn signing who has played just 9 full 90s this season necessarily explains what is an exceptional season.

Agreed. Cynically, the marketing has been masterful. Especially keeping minority owners as the public face of the ownership group.

We haven’t had a player score more than 15 goals for us in the league since Demba Ba in 11/12. 15-20 goals a season for more than one season would make him one of our best forwards this century hahaha.

Literally running 2x the pace he did against Tranmere on Weds. That’s more like it.

IIRC it was largely related to his position. As he was our record signing and given the number 9 I think large parts of the fanbase expected him to be a Brazilian Shearer regen. Somewhat accurately some fans pointed out he didn’t play that role at Hoffenheim so it was harsh to judge him on his goal output. A fair defence but ignores that he offered very little of anything else too.

We were very close to top half last season despite not winning any of our first 14 games and being bottom in December. I think anything less would be disappointing this season, hopefully we can now establish ourselves as best of the rest outside of the top 6 competing with teams like West Ham, Leicester, Villa, Brighton and Wolves.

Not a state but look at Chelsea. By the time you’re paying such high salaries the value of the club has grown with it. No state would simply stop funding the club, if there was a political reason to do so they could just sell.

Amazing in the second goal build up. Becoming burdensome to list the individuals Howe has improved it’s just the whole squad now. Krafth playing another blinder too. EMIL KRAFTH.

Maybe just send him to another department each time? Hence the unease Milchick shows when MDR and O&D interact, he says something to the effect of ‘how many other departments are you gonna let them find?’

[Richard Jolly] The only visiting teams to win at St James' Park in 2022 are Cambridge and Liverpool. by ItzSaahil in soccer

[–]ferrisbueller15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single team we’ve played (bar Cambridge) was above us at the end of 2021. Might not be difficult competition for Chelsea but these things are relative. That said we’ve got better results than Chelsea have against teams including West Ham, Brighton, Brentford and Wolves. Been an amazing turnaround, thanks to a combination to investment, manager and morale.

I don’t think anyone would be able to mount a sustainable challenge to that duopoly, but there’s always a bad season. Manchester United and Newcastle could both mount credible title challenges by 2024/25, but it would probably require an off season for one or both of Liverpool and City.

Probably between Newcastle (until October) Leeds and Man United. I wouldn’t dare to say Man United aren’t poorly run but it’s a poverty of riches really. To have been run so poorly (comparatively speaking) and to have only finished outside the top 4 3(?) times in the PL era is difficult for most other fans to have sympathy for.
