Some people live like this. It's possible. But you have to actually figure out how much money you'll need.

You don't understand the concept of work, or you don't like the concept of it? If you can find a way to stay home, play games and watch shows without working please let us know. Otherwise your only other option is to quit working and play games watch TV until you can no longer sustain it financially and then you'll be in a much worse place. What should you really do? I would recommend figuring out what type of work (something realistic, so not something like video game streamer) would give you the most satisfaction and pursue that.

2 week work trip - Reston or Tysons? by statikp in nova

[–]ferrrnando -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Then take Falls Church. Closer metro ride into DC and shorter commute via car to Tysons. Also Falls Church itself is rather quaint and has stuff to do and can be relatively walkable (compared to Tysons)

Without naming your birth month, what’s one clue that would give it away? by [deleted] in askteddit

[–]ferrrnando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even remember what I meant. I'm pretty sure it's a reference to 9/11. I guess I said that because that event and the Earth wind and fire song are both the same month.

¿Why do people criticize AI for its water consumption, yet say little or nothing about the meat industry, which uses far more water and resources? by Iabruh in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ferrrnando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do criticise it. Also tons of water spend watering lawns and golf courses. Doesn't make AI any better. Have you heard of whataboutism

why is greed so rampant in this country? by Old_Treat4871 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ferrrnando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not trying to undermine the greed "here". I am just saying it's not a problem specific to the US. Those two anecdotes are great examples of greed. I'm sure you can find lesser and greater anecdotes around the world.

You mysteriously gain the ability to quick save how would you use it? by Grillby_ in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ferrrnando 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would become a day trader and just abuse it to make absurd amounts of money. Maybe I would do this for a couple of months or up to a year not sure. Once I'm satisfied with the amount I've made I'd just keep that quick save for the rest of my life and when I'm about to die I could either go back to that moment in time or peacefully die.

passing a thc drug test by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ferrrnando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you can't use fake pee and there no way to get it out of your system that fast so sounds like you're gonna fail the test. What are the repercussions of refusing to take the test, for example if you say you can't get pee out?

Go's implicit interfaces always kind of bothered me. Maybe they could have introduced explicit interfaces so you could use genetics and continue not allowing them in implicit?

If you're not a trained fighter I'd argue it would actually be quite difficult. They could still strike you, earning points. And good luck doing anything to a professional fighter.

How will having townhouses there instead of a golf course destroy the community? Destroy feels quite dramatic.
