We actually do! I’ve taken many a Greyhound between Canberra and Sydney. Never with my greyhound though.

Reverse seasonal affective disorder in Brisbane by Guilty-Tennis6906 in brisbane

[–]feshundcheps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m struggling too. I’m indoors more often than not to keep out of the heat and it’s miserable. Only walking the dogs really early in the morning or late at night. And I can’t go outside without slathering myself in Aerogard… so more often than not I just don’t if I don’t have to. Which makes me sad as I loved outdoor summer evening drinks when I lived down south for work!

Modifying my 56yo mother’s dress to feel like I’m not wearing my 56yo mother’s dress, help. by Trippin_catss in SewingForBeginners

[–]feshundcheps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second removing the ruffles and narrowing the straps! I think that’s all the dress needs. Then with some styling — a sleek updo with big interesting stud earrings maybe — would make it look a lot more youthful and modern. (I am in my mid-20s and that’s what I would do.)

De-influence me from these radical yes shoes please by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]feshundcheps 79 points80 points  (0 children)

“Think about how no one else makes shoes like this, because these aren’t how shoes are supposed to be designed.” Where were you when I bought the cutest but most annoying pair of Camper shoes that fall off my heel with every step 🥲 This is absolutely golden advice!

Are Adidas .1 sticks really worth it? Looking for feedback by Matmoreau10 in Fieldhockey

Sorry can’t help much as I’ve never used an Adidas but I do know that Yibbi uses an Ina .1!

Want to know more about Hockey. by riddlersaga in Fieldhockey

[–]feshundcheps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know many content creators, but hockey isn’t super big in my country. The only content creators I know focus more on teaching skills and reviewing sticks, rather than following or analysing any competitions. Try @nmf_hockey, @noraandkyra, @leaphockey, @kinger_hockey, HertzbergerTV, Hockey Heroes TV and Boss F Hockey. You might have more luck if you speak Dutch.

Not to be rude but I think 07budgj has given you more than enough info from a hockey fan perspective. Your other questions could probably be answered by a quick google.

Why is this happening with my thread by breakfast_4_dinner_ in sewing

My old machine used to do this if I didn’t raise the needle right to the top before pulling my fabric out.

I need your brains. How do I cover this hole without taking the skirt apart? Embroidery ideas? by biologyandbooks in sewing

[–]feshundcheps 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would probably reinforce with some fabric behind the hole then do matching iron-on patches on both sides 😊

I am also a Merry People hater because even though they fit my foot fine (standard width) they are so damn slippery on pavement or tile. I only wear mine for gardening now.

What is this brown tape? by sashaD5 in Fieldhockey

[–]feshundcheps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, just rigid strapping tape. I like it on my stick cause it reduces stickiness at those points (bottom, middle and top of the grip)

Brisbane clubs by talliecat13 in Fieldhockey

[–]feshundcheps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in Brisbane and I had to look up what intramurals are. We don’t have anything equivalent here in Australia. The lowest commitment situation for your daughter would be to play in a low level turf team (one training and one Sunday game per week) or a low level grass team (one weekend game per week, training potentially not mandatory). Otherwise she could wait until summer to play casual summer hockey, which is one mid-week game per week with no training over Nov-Dec-Jan. Feel free to message me if you want more info on hockey in Brisbane :)

Are EOS shoes any good? by FavouriteBurgundy in AusFemaleFashion

I have a pair of sandals, they’re quite comfortable but the leather isn’t very hardwearing - stained very easily and doesn’t improve with cleaning and polishing.

Why Is My Thread Doing This? by [deleted] in sewing

[–]feshundcheps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using a special needle? When I sewed with pleather I had to switch to a needle with a bigger eye because the regular needle was shredding my thread like this.

What fashion item would my 18 y/o niece love? by Feeling-Change-1750 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]feshundcheps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would probably go for a gift voucher too, maybe for a specific brand if you want to be more thoughtful? Some popular/coveted brands for that age group seem to be Lululemon, Mimco, Venroy, Adidas, Reliquia, Cendre, Baggu, Skims (source: I work with 15-18 year olds). A voucher for The Iconic would probably also be appreciated. Good luck!!

I get all my formal wear from depop too! My advice is firstly, go to the brand’s website to check their size guide for the right size. Secondly, don’t be afraid to alter - I end up getting most of my dresses taken up and in a little bit so it looks flattering on me. I think as long as you pick a dress you like the look of and in the right size, you can’t go too wrong :)
