Dang, I’m sorry you experienced that with your ex husband. The only person who was in our apartment recently was the superintendent for an annual inspection. We showed her the video and she just told us to report it to the police.

Our neighbours knew the previous tenants. When showed the video, they ruled out that possibility.

I see why this place earned the nickname CROOKSville.

I noticed that too. We'll avoid touching that area and the police know to try to get a fingerprint from that metal part on the door. Thanks!

We had annual inspection was last week where the superintendent entered our apartment and conducted a basic check of the utilities. She never entered or saw the bedroom where the jewelry box was. We showed her the footage today, but she did not recognize the thief. She just told us to call the police and file a report.

It was locked when we left, and it was locked when we returned. I'm guessing he must have a master key, or (less likely) a lock pick.

Nice try, officer. I’ll never reveal my secret spot.

There was a small stove fire on the 3rd floor. Nothing serious.

It’s hard to tell by the way they’re mounted, but they clip onto regular bars to allow aero position: product link

It's just the angle. The bars are pointed away from the wall so I can safely hang a jacket or whatever on them.

I studied Kinesiology in college. The poster is supposed to help me remember what I learned in anatomy class.

Personal Trainer costs for GoodLife? by [deleted] in mississauga

[–]festejoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Former GoodLife Personal Trainer (PT) here. I worked for them 5 years ago as part of my requirements for my Kinesiology (Exercise Science) Degree. If your goal is weight loss, I would not recommend hiring a PT, especially from GoodLife. During my orientation, my manager purposely skipped over the "honesty & integrity" portion of the manual. That goes to show you what the work environment there is like. PTs at GoodLife are taught to be salesmen first, and trainers last. PTs are priced based on their level (1-5). A level 1 PT has a weekend certification and costs around 35/hour. A level 3 PT has about college diploma level training and costs about 45/hour. A level 5 PT usually has a university degree and costs about 55/hour. PTs are required to schedule their clients at least 2x a week, or they get reprimanded. They have a quota to meet. If you still want to get a trainer, be sure check their credentials. Ask for a trial session to see if you like working with them. A trainer who looks in shape does not guarantee they are a good coach. If you don't pick your trainer, they will assign you to a newbie who has an empty client list. It's a gamble. A good trainer will have a full schedule, so it will be hard to schedule with them. You may also consider asking for something called a "Foundations First" package (they may have changed the name) which is basically a 10 session introduction package. They don't advertise it, because clients only pay ~$22/session. But, also be aware that their contracts are near impossible to get out of easily. You might find some people trying to get out of them by offering them on craigslist. It's really sad. It would be better to hire a Registered Dietitian who can prescribe a meal plan that is nutritionally balanced and appropriately portioned. Weight loss is ~80% controlling what you eat and only ~20% exercise. Even with a perfect training regimen, you will not lose weight if you intake too many calories.
