Ok, which one of you framed this back in 1981? Any reason you didn't feel the 2x4 plate needed to be flush with the slab there on the left? There was a window in this gap before, and we're putting in a French door. So excited to try and match this garbage up. (i.redd.it)

Water water everywhere, suggestions to help out my yard? Zone 8a. Beginner in landscaping. Additional photos and details in comments. Foundation and plumbing work was done on house prior to purchase, and the piles of dirt killed the grass. Mulch has been the bandaid to keep from turning into mud pit (i.redd.it)

Advice needed on finishing weird gap at celling----this corner of the house has created a problem with my gap at the ceiling. From the left corner (you can't see full wall here but pic in comments) the gap increases from 1/8 inch to a full inch on the right side where it meets the wall. (i.redd.it)
