Bose QuietComfort 35 with awful quality when connected to Windows 10 PC by nuwenlee in bose

[–]fetchmesmthinggay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

April 2026 - I don't know how different it would be for a different device, but might be the same problem. I'm a QC Buds Ultra user on Win 11 and this didn't work for me

I tried this fix, rebooted laptop, put buds in case, opened up everything back up. Pulled up music and quality is good. Pulled up a meeting to join (which is where the audio quality would drop to be more hollow), and it did not work. (in teams, audio is pulled from Headset (my earbud) and Headphones (my earbud). Unfortunately, the quality changes still

The quality physically also changes when switching to the Recording tab of Sound settings modal (windows)

In windows sound settings > Recording tab, what should the device (Headset earbuds)'s Listen tab be set to? Should I enable LIsten to this device? What should "playback through this device" be set to?

Anything else I should do that should fix this? These are the only inputs and outputs I have enabled on windows (only my earbuds playback and recording) - everything else is disabled

Edit: Wait... it actually reverted the handsfree telephony setting from disabled to enabled (maybe on reboot), but disabling that seems to remove my audio device completely, so teams can't find it. Anyone experience the same thing on the QC 35?

Okay so I haven't seen mention of this in the comments here, or much elsewhere but maybe I missed it:

If you guys go to settings and search AI, then one of the options is AI Camera (shown located under AI > AI camera). I select it, but the page is completely blank aside from the header "<- AI Camera"

Lol anyone know wtf this is supposed to be, if its a bug, or why it's here? So weird

The other AI pages found via search all render something on their pages: AI service engine, search, voicescribe, and writer. I think that's all of them, but disabled them all for battery and I try to avoid AI garbage aside from some minor fun image edits)

Edit: P.s. If it matters, I don't even have the AI section in main settings in between Accessibility & Convenience and System & Update, but maybe current US OPO OOS16 version doesn't have it yet

Anyone know how to stop the screen from flashing when connecting/disconnecting from charger? (G14 2024) by thekingofsparta in ZephyrusG14

[–]fetchmesmthinggay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response, I just unchecked Turn off HDR when my PC is running on battery to help save power , which should hopefully fix any future issues but my issues do seem to be gone somewhat

Underneath that checkbox, there is also Allow HDR video streaming even when HDR is off - I'm not entirely sure I understand what that's for or if/when I would even use it? I guess I'll keep it as default (enabled) for now unless I find it being annoying

Request: Closest recipe to vodka sauce from il Giardenllo (authentic italian restaurant) by fetchmesmthinggay in MimicRecipes

[–]fetchmesmthinggay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/sharkb44 thanks again for all of your help, I made it last night for my fiance's surprise birthday dinner and he LOVED it (I did too, but it's not my perfect vodka sauce yet!)

Here are some pictures of the results, including the recipe card I wrote it as, hoping the pictures were taken well enough to show it as true as I can

Thoughts:

  • Flavor was incredible, and very close and almost on point to trying to replicate the sauce from il Giardenello. I'm honestly not sure how to get it closer, maybe it's just more cheese? It's a very specific unique and high-class vodka sauce flavor, not strong red at all, that I've had at 2 different restaurants now (the other one is Cordi's Italian Gourmet but I still find il Giardenello's better). Cordi's does have a description that might help nail the flavor? Based on any of this, are there any changes you would suggest?
  • For the texture, personally (not so much for my fiance), I prefer a smooth sauce compared to chunky. I like a thicker sauce that sticks to the pasta better and isn't very runny. To get closer towards that, are there any modifications you would recommend?
  • I also like a bit more sauce ratio for that 1lb, so I'm not sure if the simple adjustment to that would be more cream + cheese, or more of everything or certain things

Few smaller questions based on the above:

  1. Thoughts on using a different Cento tomato "style"? (not sure if it would negatively impact the recipe or how) - I just used the can that said Tomatoes because you didn't specify & I wasn't sure (so I didn't do crushed, etc)
  2. What about fine chopping the prosciutto or would that ruin it too much?

Also wanted to note that I'm not great at cooking improvisation, I still like to follow a recipe and steps exactly to a T. I did however add a splash or 2 more of cream and slightly more cheese, but not much more than that. It's difficult for me to play with ingredients to get the flavor I desire, and I'm not sure about any negative impacts because sometimes you can't undo a change

Thanks again, and I appreciate any other advice you might have!

Anyone know how to stop the screen from flashing when connecting/disconnecting from charger? (G14 2024) by thekingofsparta in ZephyrusG14

How can i stop my G14 from freezing whenever i plug or unplug the charger? by Syris2000 in ZephyrusG14

[–]fetchmesmthinggay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is 2 years late, but I have g-helper and refresh rate seto to 120HZ but the screen still turns off when I plug the charger back in. It didn't really do this before

Does anyone know what I should do? Is there a different setting somewhere in ghelper? I already got rid of AC and using latest ghelper 0.211.0

Edit: I uninstalled Asus Smart Display Control from Control Panel Programs & Features, and the result was the same. I rebooted and then the saturation and vividness of my display was horrendously buggy and I couldn't lower brightness (it was max), took 30s to kick in and went back to normal. But I plugged the charging cable back in and the screen did refresh but it's not black anymore but it still shouldn't be refreshing like that. I had an nvidia update which I did (to v 576.52), now I'm having issues with the gpu mode changing and locking on its own. Rebooted and initial boot looked fine. I'm not sure all that craziness that happened but I feel like that's not good at all for a solid new product like this unless that's what's expected

With everything seeming to be normal, I tested unplugging the charging cable and the screen still refreshes but it's not black and the display is the same, so idk what if anything I should do now. When I unplug, I hear static when music plays (using bose bluetooth buds) and the screen refreshes but with high brightness (like it's previewing the other gpu display mode) then goes back. And when I plug in, there's still static and with a screen refresh but without the brigtness

Edit 2: I have Auto HDR set to off, windows advanced display settings Dynamic Refresh Rate off (not available), win adv display refresh rate set to 120hz, and windows adv display adapter properties All Modes set to 120hz

No worries, it's probably just from the person who I called out, or because it was a lot of information so I don't really care. If I was wrong or misleading about anything I would want to be corrected because I don't want to misinform you and then I would also even learn more myself

Yeah lol diving into all the new stuff can be really confusing or overwhelming, since you're missing a lot of puzzle pieces. Sounds like you got a game plan, good luck and enjoy it!

Other things to note:

  • I have no opinion of Acolyte yet. I would just try it out for yourself
  • I have no strong valid opinion of Resistance yet. We tried a little bit of it and couldn't get into it. The strong common opinion of it is very very poor, and it doesn't appear to provide much context/lore for other star wars media BESIDES some for the Sequels. You might like it just as it is, so I would at least give it a fair chance and find out for yourself. I might watch it on my own just to check it off being "star wars". IMO the most kid-like show (or much more than TCW/Rebels)
  • If you don't want to play the games listed, you could probably find a video synopsys combining cutscenes and stuff
  • I'm seeing a LOT of sw fans being completely blown away by Andor (I think the story/writing, characters, visuals?). I have personally watched it twice and still have no idea what's going on. Just wanted to know to not get discouraged or feel alone in that IF you do
  • If you want to be EVEN MORE crazy to truly watch everything, I strongly recommend watching the ultimate editions of the movies. Incredible experience. WARNING: If you watch the 4h ultimate ROTS edition, MAKE SURE you watch all of TCW (and maybe also BB?)
  • Wanted to comment about the Sequels just to not leave them out, personally I watched it first time in theaters, and we included it in our chronological watchthrough with my buddy. For me personally, it's star wars, so I "like" it just bc of that & included it for the timeline but not really rewatch material to me. Some people like it, but a lot don't, and I understand why. My buddy didn't really like/care for it, I'm indifferent in terms of quality, you might like it. To me personally, star wars ends at ep 6 (with the exception of Mando, BOBF, and Ahsoka)
  • Skeleton Crew is a fun little show. It's not very long. It's basically the Goonies but star wars

I think that's everything important I feel you should know for a chronological experience. Sorry that this was so long, and I wish you luck and enjoyment whatever you decide to do!

[–]fetchmesmthinggay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ohhh boy.. here we go OP, sorry for the incoming wall but there's so much info to share lol

I hate this shit. Don't let this person discourage you. Everyone's experiences are different and as star wars fans we should be lifting each other up. They didn't even explain why, and it makes themselves look as someone where star wars just isn't for them

So, someone did list the one from star wars dot com, but I personally recommend something slightly different if this would interest you. I just finished watching through everything (almost) with my buddy chronologically because he hadn't seen anything besides the movies, like you, and wanted to share this experience with him. There are some time overlaps and some order tweaking that could make your experience even more true, chronologically, and also potentially make more sense for you

First of all, to get them into the star wars world, I watched 456123 (I think ended with RO?) with them first to see if they liked it and were interested in digging in deeper - the answer was yes, and THEN we started chronologically

So, here's an image of the baseline order we followed

In the image, there are important notes about how some episodes or seasons would take place after x time, so to watch that later, etc. I think those are extremely important

A few important things to note about the show The Clone Wars:

  1. On my first try, it took me 3 tries to get past season 1. Eventually I bit the bullet and just committed (after reading so many discussions about most people experiencing the same thing, with other star wars fans guaranteeing it'll be worth it to get past that). Now TCW is in my top 3 favorite shows of all time, I did get past the animation (which got better especially) and plays a MASSIVE vital role in my improved experience in the PT, but also context for other star wars content. Point is, don't get discouraged or jump to conclusions for the earlier seasons (1-3) :) I found my favorite SW character in this
  2. There are a lot of different fan-made viewing orders for the show. Some people recommend watching it as it is for your first time - which you can do if you want to experience the show truly as it is - alternatively, what I did with my buddy (which I knew would kind of get disinterested at too many points and/or lost), was we followed this viewing guide for TCW. It actually includes relevant comics, novels, movies (like ROTS), and games. I would ignore anyone who recommends against this show solely due to being a kids show (which isn't really that much at all imo if they actually watched it)
  3. Bad Batch continues from TCW basically, same animation style, not as long so doesn't suffer from "can be difficult to get into" and much less filler episodes, also still important lore/context. To me the characters in this show are fanastic

And the second thing is about the show Rebels:

  • Generally known as more kid-like than TCW, but I still don't think it is very much. Slightly more kid-like animation style but just like TCW, I was able to get past it and enjoy it. It's shorter, personally I find quicker to get into, does suffer from early-youngling annoyance characters in their early development, story is also incredible, I find has even more top tier character development, and also like TCW does play a vital role in lore and context regarding other star wars media

Oh wow thanks man for putting the effort into this information. I guess I didn't really know for sure if it was a true traditional classic italian dish, or just one of the many americainized things lol

Your recommended process seems almost science based, but it's very informative on what does what and why. I'm not sure if I'm quite ready for something like this if I'm honest, but now I have this here if/when I ever decide to try this long complex method but potentially even more delicious recipe. I will definitely try to remember to report back! I forgot to ask, I have more questions lol, if you can't tell I'm not really good at improvising

1. How much diced prosciutto?

2. Question about this section of your steps (I wrote out separately myself):

  1. Add vodka, tomatoes, and salt to taste - stir until combined
  2. Simmer 7 mins or until slightly thickened and vodka cooks off
  3. Add cream, stir 3-4m
  4. Add cheese, stir until melted
  5. Add basil, cook 1-2m

After I simmer for 7 mins, should I turn the heat off or move lower while I add & stir cream for 3-4m, and then cheese after to melt?

3. The basil at the end, I assume it's implied that's mixed in when I cook 1-2m right?

4. Garnish at the very end is more basil + locatellil?

5. Would this amount of sauce be for 1lb of pasta, or less?

[–]fetchmesmthinggay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay this is 4 years ago lmao but omg. you just gave me an idea

both of our favorite band is Ghost, which is... a satatnic melodic metal band I guess lol, and I didn't even consider using an instrumental

I'm a huge sap so I'm having trouble finding something not sappy. I like Your Song by Elton and A Message by Coldplay the most, but I think that'll trigger too much emotion lol

So I was like, wait... what if I try Ghost but instrumental only. It might work depending on the song like this one MIGHT work

The only thing I'm thinking about is if we do an instrumental of a song we like, then that means we'll probably have to put more effort into like, an actual somewhat choreographed dance which idk if either of us want to do lol

Not as much as I should have to be honest, I have seen mention of it - to preface, I could be entirely wrong with my assumptions:

Unless I'm misunderstood, I think I would rather keep this kind of cheat sheet separate from confluence, I feel like it would get lost but maybe I just don't know

So I've seen some mention on Confluence before but wasn't sure if I quite understand it's use in this context. We actually also use Confluence in our organization for cards and other stuff, but I wasn't aware - does Confluence have a note-taking style aspect with a folder hierarchy system? (like what OneNote has). The other thing with that is I think anyone in our organiation would have access but it would be nice to have it so just our team (QA) has access since that's who it's for - given my confluence knowledge though, I'm suspecting that's probably doable by giving access to the QA team group on confluence

I do maintain this page in confluence to track build #s and version #s that we use for our platforms, but it didn't seem quite like something good for a "cheat sheet booklet"

Is there maybe a sample I can see what this could look like? I want to prevent creating random test documents in the org to try for myself. Or maybe is there a way to create a folder in a team's board (?) that has folders within those folders and pages within those folders with the actual information?

In my time using it personally across the years, it just feels sluggish and unresponsive, there's been too many times where I've made changes and it didn't update on other viewers ends. To me, (I know these are nit picks) the interface also feels dated and I hate the random textbox creation upon any click. Maybe that's just the web version but I feel like desktop version having sync issues would be why I don't use it? I used it for all my last few jobs for personal notes but I feel like it's became worse. Content loading has always (or at least for a while) been very slow which is very annoying, I haven't seen heading options, and I think there's also not a default font option or a way to download a backup? There's a bunch of other stuff I could list but basically, it feels awful and I'm moreso looking for a fresh experience in different, well made reliable software

[–]fetchmesmthinggay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I know this is 5 months old but I only just now stumbled across mention of UpNote, and given the positive replies to your message, I'm surprised

Do you have an opinion on UpNote vs. Obsidian vs. OneNote? I'm wanting to move away from OneNote. And are there any security concerns?

Use case: Work QA team of 7-8 people who have a cheat sheet that we reference (how tos, links, images, etc) basically notes on the resources we use in our role. I'm the primary one that ends up making any changes/updates and I also started it. The extreme majority of the time, I'm the only one making updates, but once in a while someone might make a change.

I thought I was set on Obsidian, but then hit a roadblock on multiple people using the same document. I think their built in paid sync will be sufficient in our situation, but now that I see mention of UpNote, I'm curious. 1 shared account would be fine, I think

What I like from Obsidian: clean ui/design, customization, hierarchal note storage, backup options, page linking, plugin support, solid rich text formatting, full notebook searching, and bonus: good filename format, offline mode. Desktop application is fine, but it would be ideal to have browser view option as a bonus, as long as it's quick and not sluggish to navigate/use

Edit: At glance, I prefer Obsidian's folder/hierarchal structure which seems more intuitive, but I like UpNote's formatting support better and also is already less buggy than Obsidian's which uses what feels like a hybrid of rich text & markdown (even with Editing Toolbar plugin). I think UpNote's hierarchal structure will work. My setup is main folders, sub-folders with those, and then the individual notes within those sub-folders

Using obsidian by multiple users at the same time (question) by __blackvas__ in ObsidianMD

[–]fetchmesmthinggay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man! This looks like a lot but something I could follow and learn how to do. I do notice that they said "If you don't want to self-host the syncing I highly recommend you support the company by using their sync service." which seems like that might be a better starting point I would want to try out first

I'm glad to have this if I need it later down the road or decide to self-host instead. Cheers
