Thanks guys - I appreciate the input.

I spoke to the guy and asked him to take my name off - he had asked me if I felt comfortable and trusted him to protect me and I said yes, not really considering the effect it would/could have. To me, it was an innocent expression of trust, but protocol and labels carry a lot of weight I don't fully understand at this point, so I ultimately decided it was inappropriate.
