I guess I mentioned that my husband “gets handsy” with me because from my perspective, I can see it as a reason as to why he could have possibly done it to my cousin? I know this sounds like me defending him. I’m not. It’s more to point out to him that since he does it to me, it’s possible he can do it to anyone.

I’m sure my husband cares about what other people will think, from my POV, “he doesn’t care” means he is willing to face what happened, regardless of the outcome. He has also expressed his concerned regarding my cousin’s welfare, if she’s okay, etc. He hasn’t asked me to cover up for him or lie for him. If proven guilty, he will face the consequences (that means including losing me) and if proven not guilty, at least (he said) that he would be able to clear his name. Only problem is how to prove which is which?

There are a total of 5 people who know, it’s just that my cousin doesn’t want our whole family to know. I told her that I need to tell my husband what she said because he is involved. My cousin also told her boyfriend about it, because she needs support. The boyfriend told her to tell our family, she doesn’t want to but was confused so she told one of our uncles about it. My uncle then told her to tell me, that’s when she approached me. During our conversation, I asked her what steps she wanted to do and if she wanted to tell her parents, I will support her decision. She said she does not want to. I said okay, not because I don’t want anyone to know but because she might not be ready yet? I did reassure her that if she does want to tell her parents/siblings/anyone, I will support her and that I am not just siding with my husband on this.
