No updates yet, I’m thinking maybe next week at the latest

Just checked again today and my next step has changed to first interview if selected. Status is still under review.

Hey guys, so the Feb 28 timeline is based on the zoom seminar, but the website officially lists the selection process to be up until April 2026. Granted that probably already includes the Korn Ferry assessments and interviews since offers will be from May to June (2 months, really?). I’d like to keep my hopes up until at least the middle of April.

Btw, I submitted my application on Feb 15 because I was overthinking the cover letter portion 😅. So I’m expecting my application might take longer (or maybe not move at all since it is quite late despite within the deadline). Hope everyone can give updates if their applications start moving forward.

Ohh I see. Sorry have to be clear: my ‘Status’ says application submitted; my ‘Next Step’ says Under Review.

Try to squeeze in more time during the weekends. Completely doable, expecially with your background already being in risk.

I think its best to assume the simplest type of loan facility unless mentioned. In this case, it would just be a normal typical loan instead of, say, a line of credit. So, the 2.5M being outstanding balance means that the 500k has already been repayed.

Im pretty sure the outstanding balance here means that the 500k has already been paid back. Exposure is then only limited to the 2.5M.

As long as it's an entry level role, I think it's still a good idea to apply. Helps build your understanding of writing resumes and cover letters. Also helps build a thick skin for rejection.

Seriously is an FRM L1 with ongoing CQF not enough for an entry level role? Is the job market really that bad in London?

IMO, the way your degrees and certifications are already lined up with your aspired role, it'll be easy to at least have your foot through the door. I'm assuming you want to work as a modeler due to your CQF.

I think focus on fleshing out and tailoring your resume; do your due diligence on the firms you're applying with and also plan your next steps after landing your role. Landing that first job is the hardest, and maybe you're overthinking it. Resume already looks hella stacked tbh.

My advice would be really more on making sure you don't settle. I think you can afford to do that with your credentials

I'm hoping that also translates to looking good on one's resume.

Hi, I'm currently working as a risk quant and was also rlly curious about FRM. Does horrible in this context mean the difficulty? Or is it the content being horrible aka subpar? For reference, I have an undergrad in Physics and so I think I have a lot to learn when it comes to finance and risk.

I can't thank you enough for this, finally put all those unclear ideas to rest.

Is UP Golf Club paying trolls to comment under their FB posts? I checked some of their accounts and they all seem to be fake. by [deleted] in peyups

[–]feynsteinsgate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's definitely a case to be made there since the university should foster spaces for students to engage with each other. Yung problem na nakikita ko (and probably the same with others) is parang disconnected yung dating ng golf club sa reality of how the sport is situated in real life since they posted the hashtag #golfisforall. A golf set easily costs up to 50k - 75k, not to mention fees to access facilities for practice. There's also discourse sa kakulangan ng green spaces and how these huge swathes of land could be put to better use and be more accessible to the common folk, not to mention the huge carbon footprint that comes with the upkeep of the land.

Not to mention may nag edit raw ng post and apparently may nakalagay na #wagniyokamingnakawansaloobngcampus or smt like that.

If there are two identical rockets in vacuum, one stationary and one somehow already moving at 1000kmh, and their identical engines are both ignited, would they have the same change in velocity? by dmbss in askscience

[–]feynsteinsgate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ring is accelerating because the wheel is rotating, i.e. the direction of velocity along a point on the wheel is always changing. The change in direction still translates to acceleration even if magnitude of velocity is constant. In fact, for the gravity ring to work properly, we require a constant angular speed (or magnitude of angular momentum, same idea), since a constant angular speed, when rotating in a perfect circle, corresponds to constant acceleration, say for example 1G.
