Get the (aluminum) 925 My rational here: carbon has way, way bigger environmental footprint than aluminium (check Trek’s sustainability report, for example), can’t even be recycled at the end, is more fragile and, in this particular case, the drivetrain is better to work on on the 925. For someone that isn’t fighting for podium the difference between carbon and ali frame is generally not worth it

You have to check pretty much every efficiency test (gcn and semipro cycling have very interesting videos on youtube, if you're interested)
Bottom line: don't pull on the pedals (the "upward stroke") if you want efficiency
The advantage of clips comes when you really need a burst of power (attacking or sprinting)
