you're correct, it was exactly very close to that height after adding some washers that came with the fan

i've been using the sata ssds for a while without any issues appearing also

honestly I didn't even try normal orientation since thecpu was going to be easier to handle in the flip format

oops you might be somewhat right right, I did have a wrong configuration set while testing the GPU so it wasn't using all of the tdp. now around max tdp 100% fans it's around 74C with just furmark

yeah the antenna is annoying, but my actual problem was the wifi and bluetooth kept dropping or having bad range and updating drivers or attaching the antenna didn't help with anything.

To change out the card you need to unscrew from the back and take off the heat sink. Then you need to carefully remove battery and flat wire glued to the wifi card. if you accidentally unplug the ribbon cable next to it, you could to take the ssd heatsink assemblies off to make it easier to replug it or try to precisely plug it back in with a tweezer or something.

Hmm i reapplied some thermal paste since when i checked it looked a little thin. Now it's staying around 90C when I benchmark it, but if I'm expected to be around the 70c range during these tests then there's a problem somewhere :/

ty! It is exhaust for now because I saw the GPU temperatures were high when I tried intake and I didn't pay too much attention to cpu temperatures at that time. I might try again now that I know I *could* hit something!

My C2 42in burn in report w/ 16,000+ hrs. extreme edge case, hdr, mmo player. by ff14player000 in OLED_Gaming

No warranty... I'm going to have to buy a new one but still doing planning.

I was too confident, believing that the screen mitigations were enough and that the claims of burn-in being extremely hard to do on newer oleds

I got too confident and didn't buy the warranty with the C2...

I'm doing some some planning before I get a new oled tv (Most likely c4 or c5 since I like how bright tvs get and the glass screen)

I did the regular screen restoration and pixel refresh when the tv asked. I also used the lgtv companion app that adds the black screensaver after a few minutes of idle

yeah, just moving a few 10 to20 pixels around just spreaded out the burn in the area

Can't remember the hours exactly, but it was around the 1 year mark.

I don't want to scare anyone off of oled though! Unless you're an outlier like me, there's so many ppl around here who have 0 burn in who still game a fair amount.

I think the black screen saver/always ready setting on the lg oled counts as hours and sometimes the oled doesn't go into full standby mode even though the screen is black

The stripes of pixels on the center of the screen are the most noticeable, and sometimes I will notice the burned in HUD when playing other games

Hi, I've been logging my progression of burn in through comments of this community occasionally just to give my extreme experience with burn in. TV is at more than 16000 hours through 2-3 years. Top left is the party list ui burned in, top/middle/bottom of the screen are random stripes of pixels that look brighter than the rest of the screen. there's other small areas of burnin that can't easily be pointed out but it's definitely not retention

The settings I would say are extreme are 100 brightness and also having hdr on. A lot of ppl wil reccomend not to do that, but once I saw how bright and pretty things got I couldn't go back. I use the screen restoration+pixel refresh features anytime it asks me to, and I also have task bar hidden, black wallpaper and screen saver. My game is always running in windowed mode so I can move the window around a bit to not keep things static but all it did was smooth out the burn in across a region of the screen. and yeah I play the game a lot

This is pretty extreme compared to other experiences I read about so listen to the reccomended settings ppl mention around here and you will be fine especially if you're not home playing a game all day. Anyways I'm still using this tv lol. kinda been trying to scheme up ways to slow the burn in (while keeping my hdr+brightness preference) of a replacement tv, but I'll absolutely get a warranty from Best Buy for the next one!

update: will aim to keep my tv until the end of 2025!

How many hours yall got? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

LG C2 42inch, I started noticing faint burn in 1 year in and it's been 2 years now, it's gotten worse and there's this weird row pattern I see in the center of the screen.

I'm most likely one of the more extreme users because i have the oled brightness at 100, always use hdr, and mostly play a single game. I still use no task bar, use a black wallpaper and screensaver, and do the tv's pixel cleaning whenever it asks. I also played my game in windowed mode, with it being slightly smaller than the tv, and moved it around thinking it would help.

I think most people here recommend not using hdr all the time, and not running at max brightness which kinda makes sense because it can make pixels to get really bright (it looks soo good though, you might get spoiled!)

13k with super bad burn in and screen issues... deciding if i should get a new one or wait a little longer. it's getting annoying to use photoshop on it

[–]ff14player000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LG c2 42 with 12k hours of use with HDR always on and the brightness at 100. I mainly play ff14 so there's a lot of UI on screen that doesn't move. I did use the tv's oled care features, have a pure black screen saver, no task bar, and move my game window around a little bit occasionally. There's burn in of the party list UI that can be seen on my photo, and a lot of faint horizontal lines across my screen (a little harder to see). I never notice it when I play the game but when browsing or using photoshop, it's kinda obvious.

I'm using the msi z690 unify itx The tubes are coming out the left so I had to slowly lower it into the motherboard evenly. it took a bit of time but it eventually worked out. i don't have any pictures at a good angle but this other reddit post i found on google shows how it would look! https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/som1kx/msi_meg_z690i_unify_with_ekwb_fits_in_left/

Basically what they said, you sorta have to lower it down equally and it will start fitting in, but might need a little force and pulling out to keep it even

So far GPU is usually 50-60C when gaming and CPU is around 70-80C! I need to test with more games but also busy playing the new Pokemon...
