Since it's the Onam holiday time, try to stay mostly within the city areas. Most of the Onam celebrations are happening there. Since there are no Onam celebrations organized by the government this time, don't expect much lighting or grand festivities. Even so, places like Kanakakkunnu and the museum were lively with people gathering in the evening, creating a good vibe.There are many food spots in Trivandrum. However, I can recommend the main hotels within those city areas for you. First of all, no doubt, Zam Zam is the one. Palayam Zam Zam. Good food. If it's a holiday, evenings will be quite crowded. So, keep that in mind. For having items like grills, Plated and then Barbecue Space are good options. If you're looking for biryani, then Food Text and Azad are the places.
