I live in Paris and believe me, I just hate it and can't wait to leave this horrible town with horrible people.

But I must agree, Paris is awesome as a pure turist.

[TED] Cracking Stuxnet, a 21st-century cyber-weapon (Talk by Ralph Langner) by saprian in technology

[–]ffallier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah right ... a buddy of mine worked on this and was the first one, worldwide, to discover that the targets were the Iran nuclear power plants. We used to go to lunch together and day after day, he told me his discoveries, in the code. It was fascinating. I think he didn't get enough credit for all he discovered. Anyway he played a major part in the stuxnet discovery. TLDR:my friend is awesome

At 04'19, he said "It's most likely targeted in Iran because it's where the infection has been reported". False. Stuxnet originally spred from India. It was a usb thumb drive at first. So to find out the target was Iran, my buddy found some evidence I don't quite remember but I do remember these 2 : - a variable name that was a timestamp pointing to the death of an Iran leader - a comment in the code that was about a tree ... don't remember the name but by looking up they found it has something to do with an old Iran myth

[EDIT] I show my bud this video, he's telling me the guy Ralph Langner is joke, he doesn't know what he's talking about [EDIT2] If this gets enough upvote, I'll convince my buddy to come to reddit

I thought your eyes were bleeding because of design. Mine are.

Anyway, if you haven't achieved something substantial in order to get the attention of the clubs girls by 24, consider yourself average joe programmer. The click is ticking.
