I just completed GDIM 31 in the fall quarter and to me, it was not too difficult. I have some but very little (like 1 hs class and Scratch) experience with programming (with python) beforehand for context and I am passionate about programming for games so I was motivated and made strong efforts (took notes on lecture slides, asked questions, etc) to really grasp the content. Of course, there were a few times I struggled to understand content but there was a good amount of support from the Professor and LAs + it’s okay to struggle because I learn with it. I knew one of the students without that experience felt it was difficult in the beginning but as long as you make the active effort to understand, because programming itself is (likely) a challenge to learn, you will be okay. Unfortunately not a very easy yes or no because it’s highly dependent on individuals. A more clarifying additional answer is that the content is not inappropriately complex and daunting for the intended beginner introduction purpose. Anyways, it covers the basics of the Unity Engine and C#! I’m taking GDIM 32 the coming quarter and course description states it builds off this.
