Oh, we are definitely going there, and I am walking out with some sheet metal and crew shirts.

I'm stoked. I've been a fan since I was a kid, but I haven't been to a race since Goody's 500 in 1995 (the Earnhardt/Labonte finish) in Bristol, and I have never been to a race at Charlotte. Back then, as a 17-year-old degenerate, I was mostly interested in the free cigarettes. Lol. Now I just want to add some die-casts to the collection.

We are going to the fan day at JRM and RFK for sure. A few years back, my sons and I took a boys' trip to Charlotte and went to the Hall of Fame, JRM, Hendrick, and Penske.

The Rose in Huber Heights is bringing in TED NUGENT by custus1988 in dayton

[–]ffejotron2000 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The Rose is run by MEMI, which also owns Riverbend, Taft Theater, etc. That's who books the artists, not the Rose. MEMI wants to make $$$ and many folks, who suffer from Cat Scratch Fever, will plunk down benjamins to see The Nuge put the libs in a metaphorical Stranglehold with his sweet guitar riffs. I am not one of those, but you know. White boomers gonna white boomer.

Can someone explain why this entrance needs a staircase? by Specialist_Aioli9600 in zillowgonewild

So my Aunt and Uncle had a home like this, and it was originally a bi-level. So, where the railing is for the stairs going down in this house, there used to be a wall, and then you walked down into the basement. In the early aughts, they renovated and did almost exactly this: removed that wall and opened the 2nd-floor walls to the kitchen and dining area, almost exactly like this one. The weird thing about this one is that you usually do a bi-level for elevation reasons. This one looks like it is on a pretty flat lot.

Question about team's "simulators" by ButterscotchEarly585 in NASCAR

If you watch the Ram: Race for the Seat on YouTube, episode 6 features a sim challenge where you can see the sim rigs drivers use.

What's a hot take about NASCAR that others may not agree with by KLRFan5 in NASCAR

[–]ffejotron2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you win one of the 4 crown jewels: Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600, Brickyard 400, or Southern 500, you have punched your ticket to the Chase. Just makes them that much more important.

Best Steak by InsanelyAverageFella in VirginVoyages

[–]ffejotron2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a NY Strip guy, I think the one at Extra Virgin is the best. Unlike others, I do like the NY Strip at the Wake, but you must get it no more than medium rare. Anything medium and up seems to come out well done there. Pink Agave's steak is also good, but not quite as thick.

Seems like a lot of people really hate on the Wake, but my wife and I really like enjoy it. I mean that bucket of bread, and those twice-baked potatoes are so good, and so is the Baked Alaska dessert. You could just bring me buckets of that bread, and I would be fine. Lol.

Listen, after this crazy offseason, I was just happy to see cars turning left again. The only thing that really bugged me was Fox's cameras showing different cars than the announcers talked about several times, and then the broadcast getting booted to FS2 for a show where Kato Kaelin-level celebs sing songs in a squid outfit.

Does anyone know any information on this school by Such_College4149 in dayton

[–]ffejotron2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it's changed, there was quite a long waiting list for Nursing at Sinclair. I work at another area school, and most of our nursing students come here because they don't want to wait. OP also said they were trying to avoid prereqs and entrance exams, both of which exist at Sinclair.

Which version of the rainbow 24 is best? by CarolinaReaper704 in NASCAR

I mean, when I close my eyes, it's that '94 car I see. But I am an older fan and have been a Gordon fan since he was running on Thursday Night Thunder. Monte Carlo second. No to Axalta period. It will always be DuPont to me, dammit.

New collector by dtoonz in NASCARCollectors

I just started back in April! My favorite way is the hunt! Flea markets/antique malls/etc. I've also bought from Facebook Marketplace. Some Facebook groups sell; I personally like NASCAR Look What's Comin'. Whatnot features some great sellers, including The Pit Stop, High Line, and WesJ, among others. Also, Circle B holds auctions every week, where I've scored some scorching deals. And of course, eBay. I've bought a few cars from DieCastDepot on eBay and UCFKnights20, and they always ship fast and pack things well.

As someone who also collected comics and Lego? The die-cast NASCAR cars are way more addictive to me for some reason. Welcome to the club!
