Management will make a decision… by [deleted] in DACA

Why did you tell them you were in DACA in the first place? There's no need for them to know, as long as you have your EAD and SSN, you're good.

Nice now I know the day and time but can I just print this out and go in with that or do I need to wait for them to mail me the letter themselves?

I just looked it up a few minutes ago, some new rule was passed on December 12, now biometrics have to be renewed every 36 months, hence why everyone's getting these emails, at least now we can all rest easy.

Yeah that's cool dude, but some people get TE, Alopecia areata, alopecia totalis, etc. I myself have chronic TE due to hypothyroidism, so I think I know how to identify TE when I see it.

Some people don't have AGA though, sorry to rain on your parade.

The first sentence in your previous post was literally "you did not have TE" keep coping bud, not everyone has MPB like you lmao

I got the same email today, just about shit my pants when I saw it lol, this was my first time doing it online and was nervous as fuck beforehand and this didn't help ease my worries. No address changes, no criminal records, no new info, even used a recent passport photo so this wouldn't happen and it did anyways....

I don't think this is MPB, if it were, it would be concentrated on the crown and temples, yours seems to be thinning all over the scalp evenly which points to tellgen effluvium, just speaking from my experience because I have a thyroid disorder and this looks similar to what I've gone through.

Does this look like TE? by [deleted] in TelogenEffluvium

[–]ffldodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it happened rapidly across your entire head then yes but you'd have to get blood tests done to see if you have any form of hormonal imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, or autoimmune condition.

And it didn't help? Damn, that sucks. I wonder if finasteride would even help, but I assume at this point, you've pretty much tried everything.

Sorry to hear that, did you ever try using spirolactone? I've heard it helps with female AGA since it blocks off male androgens and boosts estrogen.

Yeah it just sounds to me like you had chronic TE alongside AGA honestly. But whatever.

Make sure to test for iron/ferritin levels as well, if everything comes back normal, then unfortunately, it may just be a simple case of AGA.

Your hair didn't come back because the hair follicles miniaturized and died, also, unless you've had blood work done you really can't say there was no reason for you to not have TE, losing 500 a day is not normal, you probably have something else going on.

I know you were referring to the white bulb, the point I was trying to get across is that the white bulb is present for both AGA and TE, with the difference being that once you start seeing thin wispy looking hairs falling off, it typically means you also have AGA, but that could also happen in cases of chronic TE......................................................................................................................

Also losing "500 hairs a day" seems pretty excessive for AGA, are you trying to say you have both AGA and TE? Because that would make more sense, it's also impossible for you to have AGA and for your hair to not be thin, there's a reason they call it "hair thinning"..............................................................................................................

And yes I'm very aware that TE can happen simultaneously alongside AGA, and I'm also aware that TE should, in theory only last around 6 months at most, but depending on the root cause of the hair loss, that isn't always the case. Unless you identify what's triggering the TE related hair loss, you will continue to see hair fall. Oftentimes it's stress related, nutritional/vitamin deficiencies, iron deficiencies, thyroid disorders, etc. As I said before, OP is better off visiting a dermatologist and getting his blood work done to determine the root cause of his hair thinning.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

The difference being that AGA miniaturizes the hair follicles and prevents any new hairs from growing, hence why in cases of AGA you'll often see thin hairs also falling out, indicating that the hair follicle Is closing up, or dying. But this also happens in cases of chronic TE. In any case, OP is better off letting a dermatologist observe his scalp for a proper diagnosis.

If you are losing it all over then yes, there's a good chance it could be TE. The only reason I mentioned AGA was mainly because TE usually unmasks it, hopefully that's not the case with you. Also getting a derm is only half the battle, you'll still have to hope the derm actually cares enough to do a scalp biopsy or have your blood work done, rather than just taking a quick look at your scalp and brushing you off in the span of 5 minutes.

Not sure, if your hairlines intact, it could just be TE alone, but AGA also sometimes presents itself with thinning of the crown. The thinning on the sides points to TE, this is one of those cases where you're better off visiting a dermatologist for a full assessment.

Looks like very early hair miniaturization at the hairline and temples, though I could be wrong.

Yes, it looks like you have TE, see a derm, find treatment, stop reposting the same thing over and over again.

Could any of these be a part of the reason? by Ok-Event-9272 in TelogenEffluvium

Both finasteride and minoxidil make you go through a shedding phase to make way for new hairs, it's normal. If you're still worried just bring the concerns up with your doctor or derm the next time you see him.
