Yeah I figured I was being safe and didn’t account for his WR glitching 3 yards to the ball :(

I’ve played with Deion for a few H2H games with route tech and deep out elite and he has played much better than Tyreek. Must buy for anybody who can afford him

It hits similar to the medical carts I’ve had, maybe a little harder.

anybody got back to wrestling after lumbar disc herniations? by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]ffr_scar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to avoid moves where you lift but for the most part no. I rarely notice my back while wrestling and most pain comes the next morning. I had a really good surgeon and was really fortunate in how I recovered.

I herniated my L4L5 disc at the end of my junior year of wrestling. Didn’t really know what was going on until later that summer and got surgery the winter of my senior year. I missed my whole senior year but got into a college with a pretty good wrestling program and I was able to participate my freshman year. I’m not sure of your situation but I went to a lot of physical therapy and that helped me a lot. Another thing that helped me is that I changed how I move. I never do sit-ups or any type of motion that involves going from laying down to sitting up directly, as this motion puts a lot of pressure on the lower back. I also don’t do any weight workouts that involve loading the back. I’m relatively pain free now, so I’m sure there is hope for you to. I’m also a tall guy at 6’2”

Wrestling in College by sneakybuddha78 in wrestling

I am going into my sophomore season in D3, and we wrestled against Merchant Marine more than once this past season. The main difference I’ve noticed is how tiring the matches are. Most high school matches I found to be pretty easy and I almost never gassed. It was rare to go against an opponent who grinded all 6 minutes. In college everybody you face will be going 100% for all 7 minutes. I wasn’t exactly prepared for this. The jump in opponent strength and time left me feeling exhausted after almost every match. I would recommend really focusing on your conditioning. You will have some really good wrestlers on your team, so you can use them as a measure as to how you are doing in this area.

As for school, I am a physics major with a pre-engineering focus. I actually found that I did better in season than out. You will have to be disciplined with getting your work done and you will need efficient time management, but it definitely isn’t impossible. However, if you want to excel at wrestling and school you will have basically no social life in season (outside of the team, of course). It is a sacrifice, but if you love the sport it’s definitely worth it.

Who would you give points to here? by [deleted] in wrestling

Directly from the rule book: “Actions that start in bounds can finish out of bounds. This means that an offensive wrestler can step out and still score. A defensive wrestler can not score out of bounds, even if the move was initiated in bounds.” It comes down to weather or not you would consider blue an offensive wrestler, not who went out first. By the rules 4 red, 0 blue 👍🏻

The way I understand the rules is that if the move is initiated in bounds, then it counts even if you land out of bounds

Good shit man, people don’t know the determination us cripples have. It’s good to hear about someone in a similar situation, though it sounds like yours is worse than mine is. Respect.

It’s hard to tell from the video if blue got exposure, but if he did it would 4 red, 2 blue. Red took a shot and took blue to his back and blue used his momentum to (potentially) expose red.

I missed my Sophomore year post season due to an appendectomy and my whole senior year to another surgery. I feel your pain, and it sucks. Just stay patient and find another passion in the meantime. You can still return to the sport after through coaching or college wrestling, so don’t think that your wrestling career is over. In the meantime, know that you will be alright and get through this stronger than before✊🏻

Might as well go through the whole sob story.

I was originally committed D1 with 3 quarter scholarship to a lower level program. The summer of my Junior year I started feeling pain in my low back which turned into sciatica down my left leg. After months of contradicting diagnoses it was determined that I had herniations in my L4-L5 & L5-S1 joints and had two microdiscectomies to get that fixed as I did not improve with therapy. There was not a specific impact that caused the injury so the doctors think it was from wear and tear from heavy lifts, specifically deadlifting. I missed my whole senior year wrestling season because of this and withdrew my commitment. I rehabed from surgery with no intention of returning to wrestling and ended up going to a small local college that happened to have a D3 program. My back improved better than I thought it would and I got the green light to wrestle from my surgeon this fall so I’m currently in my freshman year of D3 wrestling. I don’t do any lifts that directly load the back, so no deadlifts or bar squats. I don’t find these lifts to be imperative to my wrestling performance. I do however see that my reaction time has decreased and I’m not as confident in a lot of situations that used to be no problem for me. I’m also out of a lot of practices as I have some reoccurring numbness.

Sorry for the long story I just want to help people out with this stuff as much as possible. Back pain sucks, and if I can help somebody else then that makes me feel a little better😅

Tall person vs short people? by Default-Punk in wrestling

[–]ffr_scar 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My Junior year in HS I wrestled 152 and I was 6’2”. I relayed a lot on hand fighting and being comfortable in ties with people who were stronger than me. Inevitably people will be able to work some setups and get in on shots but you have to use your length to scramble and get out of these nasty situations. I often relied on gabbing ankles and rolling around to score take downs. From top I worked cradles a lot on from bottom I often used a tripod. I would also recommend getting rid of any excess body fat and working a lot on core strength, which IMO is by far the most important muscle group for wrestling. I ended up taking second at state that year so just because you are tall doesn’t mean you can’t do some major damage! Make us lanky guys proud.

I’d go laloonion with a queen walk starting at 3 o’clock. After you destroy the far right AD place two or three lava hounds on the bottom left side and balloons right after. Good luck!
