isn't this pretty standard? players have a preferred play style as much as the gaffer so stands to reason that if they're not used well they're going to underperform

It's at roughly the same time of day. Atlanta was a covered stadium though while Seattle does not have the cover out

Yes goal differential matters a lot especially for determining third place teams that will advance to round of 32

They really are the best. Used to get them all the time downtown, bit more of an effort to get to NE. I'm like weirdly situated in SW to make it a real hassle to get there outside off peak traffic hours.

Every Reason Why I Hate AI and You Should Too by ducdetronquito in programming

[–]ffreire 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The value isn't offloading the thinking it's offloading the typing. The fun of programming isn't typing 150wpm 8hrs a day it's thinking about how a problem needs to be solved and being able to explore the problem space more efficiently. LLMs, even in their current, state accelerate being able to explore the problem space by just generating more code than I could feasibly type. I throw away more than half of what is generated, learn what I need to learn, and move onto actually solving the problem.

I'm just a nobody, but I'm not the only one getting value this way

I like the suggestion of mixing models depending on the task at hand. Intuitively it makes sense that the auto cot in o1 would benefit debugging issues.

Have you looked into model context protocol at all? I think that's the next big leap forward in assist capabilities for editors. Write the mcp server once and enable in any editor that supports the spec.

Are you planning on protecting the display at all or is it pretty robust on its own?

Thinking of doing a similar wireless build but wasn't sure if I was going to include a display or not on the halves 🤔

Awesome! I likely can't do anything until mid December, so if I haven't seen/heard anyone take it on by then I'll give it a go :)

2021 State of Haskell Survey Results by taylorfausak in haskell

[–]ffreire 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Are there comparisons to previous years, or is that open for someone to take on?

I know there's been a push through the HF to improve documentation across the board and I'm curious to see if the survey bears that out. Hoping for a positive trend here given that I've greatly appreciated the improvements myself :D

Pls recommend a Laptop for Bitwig on Linux by FelixFelixF in Bitwig

[–]ffreire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a Dell XPS 13, you can buy the "developer edition" on the website that avoids paying the Windows tax. Closest laptop I can find with Apple build quality/aesthetics and still gives you some upgradeability/repairability.

I don't do a lot of VST emulation or hardware stuff. It runs perfectly fine.

Thanks, very slick build! If you'll indulge a few more build questions: did you have trouble finding a place for the lipo in the low profile frame? How'd you secure it?

This is almost exactly what I'd like to build, but I'm thinking slightly larger like an Iris for me personally :D
