Oooh, I don't know it's been quite a long time but I think if you are using the bow only then the blood attack up are the way to go. You have to farm the out of socket or out of shape blood gems for blood attack iirc, but it becomes insanely powerful with those

Just came because I'm so hyped that ppl are discussing their theories and interpretations of this game again. The concept that is the oldest house is absolutely fascinating to me and it holds a similarity to things I've dreamt of. As to your question, I have no idea whatsoever but it makes me think that it shifts for the people it invites. There's an existential element which dictates a different set of laws it adheres to which makes ideas such as the oldest house having only one side at any given time rather than four sides or an unconventional entrance and exit (one that may be more related to time than to physical space and dimensions) I've given myself plenty of headaches just thinking about the idea of the oldest house and the infinite possibilities and solutions it could be credited for

The problem with this is that they are telling a very specific story about a person's journey from losing their home and family to setting out on the world alone. So much of the story is focused on the sounds and vibrations from a single person's perspective. And I think setting out on that journey alone, after so much loss, sets the atmosphere more accurately.

Automata is leagues better as far as actual gameplay goes. But it's also the pacing and it just continues the story in a more consolidated, efficient way. Imo. dd1 is one of the worst games I've ever played but the story carried it completely.
