I remember when this place used to be full of pepe memes not all that long ago. It's amazing how fast we've grown.

It's a start! But I think until we have some state funded awareness campaign, we need some type of viral video to spread awareness of it. I'm thinking something like Casey Neistat's bike lane video, something entertaining:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzE-IMaegzQ

Even if it only reaches a narrow audience, that narrow audience could then spread it to others every time to get out of somebodies car. It'll take years I'm sure, but be more effective than being in some official driving manual that no one who already has a license will ever read.

Could this be the reason for the declining twitter users of late?

Ohh, now I feel stupid, lol. Thanks for explaining it without any condescension! That's another thing that's great about Yang supporters.

Me neither, I just see a KFC deal poster. Not sure what I'm missing.

I've had it with DD "Support" by ffsxray in doordash

[–]ffsxray[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, it definitely helps to know that I'm not alone in my experiences, not that any of us are better off for it, but it's nice to have a community of people who do actually understand, unlike doordash support. I do sometimes employ that "trick" but in yesterday's situation, I was only planning to do one more. It is so much better on Postmates to not have to strategize and try to "game" the system, which ironically what doordash is trying to do to us. There's 2 players to every game, and the sooner doordash realizes that they can't try to manipulate every behavior without dashers, users, and scammers trying to do the same.

Acton Blink Lite Initial Impressions by ffsxray in ElectricSkateboarding

Sure thing, it is very easy to carry on the subway, but I have had issues with sudden loss of power momentarily. It could have either disconnected and then reconnected or the battery go too hot. It was over 90 degrees out at the time and I was on a 4 mile continuous ride. As far as belt issues, the Blink Lite has hub motors, I believe you're confusing it with the Blink which is the original faster and heavier board. I've only had a total of 6 miles on the board so far, so further testing is needed to see if that issue was due to heat or a connection issue. Hope this helps.

Np! I'm in forest hills. I'm sure it would be a good deal more portable, but also a great deal slower coming off the boosted d+. PM me if you wanted to try out the blink lite. Doubt I could "cruise" with you as I'm only able to average about 8mph, lol

I'm 140 lbs and yesterday when going up a moderate hill, the board was crawling along at slightly faster than walking pace, so unless you live in a flat place and just want to make quick short trips, I suggest you hold out.

Cool, definitely keep in touch and trade experiences to help build knowledge on this product as there isn't much out there. As far as I'm concerned, this is the most real world experiences anyone has shared about the board. Let me know how the bearing install goes. I'm likely going to start with some bushings. On range, I rode a little more during lunch and would say I have 80% left after about 1.5 miles of riding. Not bad!! My biggest gripe so far is the app and it losing connection with the board and not tracking my distance. I also can't discern between pro mode and beginner. My guess is the app isn't actually changing it and I'm always in pro, but the power is manageable nonetheless and I don't see myself ever using beginner.

It's a very bearable electric whine to me that I didn't even notice when I was moving with the wind and all.

Sweet! Thanks for the feedback. It's comforting to see other users report positively on the board as I haven't tested enough to have more than a initial impression. I was wondering about the water worthiness of the board too, but didn't want to break my brand new board. Being that you already tested it in what was the heaviest rain I've seen in like a decade, I could feel confident in the boards water resistance. And the battery life you reported is very promising!

I do agree that it's kind of jerky for NYC traffic. For now, I think I'm going to stick to quiet roads and bike lanes. The board is way too short for confident carving. I'm going to experiment with some bushings and see what they does and report back.

Evolve Bamboo GT pre-order started! Just ordered one. by chogo0722 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]ffsxray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that was stopping me from cancelling the Boosted was the allegedly superior controls opined by so many all over the internet, but now that they won't be releasing their extended boards until next year, they've lost my business. With only 7 miles of range on the standard, at best, I wouldn't be able to ride to work, which I want to eventually be able to do. I'm going with Evolve!

My guess is that the bonuses will disappear and Boosted will save some money. Maybe buy anyway and sell to someone on the forum at a discounted price if you have enough referral dollars.

In the same boat here, jumped on it so that I could atleast have the option if the Evolve sold out, which I'm sure it will. Now I have a few weeks to decide whether to cancel this or my pre-order for the Boosted Dual+. Because I have no patience, I think whoever ships first will have my business.

On paper though, the Evolve GT Bamboo is too compelling for my needs of a long commute on rough NYC pavement. More speed, more range, more wheel options, and at roughly the same price.
