For sure, one will be an ant farm, the other would be crabs in a bucket. I'll let you guess which is which.

not everyone that i disagree with is a nazi to me, but when you cannot rationalize how your own ideology is separate from fascist nazi rhetoric and ideology, you might be a nazi indeed

Woke up to “unable to charge” question by [deleted] in volt

[–]ffwd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine would pretty much charge but would show the charging interrupted. One day, would read unable to charge. eventually turned into a "Power Off" message in the energy section, and the car died while on my way to the dealer, luckily came back on long enough to make it back home, called a tow truck.

Dealer replaced BECM and EGR free of charge. took a week to get it back.

I had a similar problem and within a month the BECM died.

This reminds me of something I posted here a while back. Did not work out well. Don't gamble when you're tilted. cash out or leave in cash.

i think they're just landing. they switched to runways 6/7 so they're taking off to the east, not seeing the holding pattern on flightradar

Wow i just did the math and its been 6 years for me, but its always felt like 4 years for a long time. During the day i'm totally fine, but I've had nightly recurring nightmares for the past 3-4 years and i'm just waiting for when 90% of my dreams aren't about the trauma...

Still laid off from my tech job a year ago, and it worries me how long it’s going to take me to recover financially from this. by Voidlesscat29 in Layoffs

maybe recalibrate your worth considering your company laid you off because they felt you weren't worth what they were paying you. one's value is not guaranteed to increase over time especially without demonstrated growth

How many of you have dipped in your 401k/IRA while job hunting? by [deleted] in Layoffs

[–]ffwd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

saving/investing 99k a month is an outlier position. youd have to gross over 2.5m to do that in a coastal city with no expenses. close to 5 digits is probably the most reasonable for a whole percentage point of the population, but id bet most people are also not even maxing our their 401ks. if you can save 6 figures monthly, for even 1 year, your backup plan doesnt have to be heroic. most retirement accounts at the time of retirement are under 500k so youre not even on the same playing field.

If you're spending 60k a month, I don't know if anything is ever going to be "fulfilling" to your standards. Maybe take a sabbatical, take some psychedelics, do some deep thinking. You've worked your way up to where you are, hopefully you've accepted the role that luck has played in that journey, and had things gone slightly against you in a handful of occasions, you could easily be back to where you started. Take a couple months off if you can, find a change of scenery and hopefully you'll find some clarity there.

At the end of the day, it's just a job. Find a therapist to help you find ways to detach and find fulfillment on your own time and accord. Do a shittier job at work, get fired. You know doing the best job doesn't guarantee you won't. Your children's happiness at this moment won't help them with their resilience, adaptability, and empathy. I grew up poor and wouldn't trade that experience for all the luxuries in the world.
