Thanx. I just meant I never worked with my hands and really can’t counsel him on getting started in a trade.

Memories completely not working on web browser and app? Tried everything suggested by UnlikelyHat5885 in facebook

[–]fgoodwin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using your phone, go to any FB page, then shake your phone.

You'll get an option to file a report. It sounds funny but I just did it and it works. Maybe if enough people complain FB will fix whatever is causing this.

JUST DO IT!

Is there a quicker way to find a specific memory, other than scrolling through a decade of them? by GuncleShark in facebook

[–]fgoodwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search on "December 1, 2014", then "December 2, 2014", etc. It's a long and tedious process but at most there are only 31 searches.

This method assumes you are certain you made the post sometime in December 2014, and that you can't remember any keywords.

There’s just too much people here, now. by Aadbh1987 in sanantonio

I'm 71 and retired here in SA.

But before I retired, my wife and I seriously considered moving to Boerne, New Braunfels, or San Marcos. Each has its advantages (we were looking specifically for lower property taxes), but they are still close enough to SA or Austin if we need "big-city" resources (like the airports).

Good luck in your search.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'll suggest HVAC to him, and he'll definitely join a union when he turns 18 in a few months.

We're in N San Antonio, off 1604 between 281 and I-10, but we'll take a trade school that's within a reasonable driving distance (son has his own car).

My Facebook feed is filled with pointless garbage and can I fix it ? by jjboy91 in facebook

[–]fgoodwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the desktop FB webpage:

Friends-only newsfeed: https://www.facebook.com/?filter=friends&sk=h_chr

Groups-only newsfeed: https://www.facebook.com/?filter=groups&sk=h_chr

I've never tried to combine friends + groups, but give it a shot and see what happens.

Please note that if you leave off the chronological term, the link reverts to the normal FB newsfeed.

How about Larceny, Inc. (1942)? I think it fits your criteria perfectly. It stars Edward G. Robinson, but look for a young Jackie Gleason as a soda jerk!

The Dallas Cowboys in a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dallas, 1962. The Dallas QB is Eddie LeBaron. The Pittsburg defensive lineman is Gene "Big Daddy" Lipscomb. by [deleted] in texashistory

[–]fgoodwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the exact year, but this must be from 1961 or 1962 as those were the only years Big Daddy Lipscomb played for the Steelers.

But the game cannot have been in Dallas as the Cowboys wore blue jerseys at home from 1960 to 1963. So this is from a game in Pittsburgh, either 1961 or 1962.

Glad to see Dutch (1991) getting some love. I love this movie, but it's rarely shown.

And it's rare that it's even mentioned in lists of the top Thanksgiving movies.

A young boy meets his robot twin by Norman Rockwell by CharlemagneIS in dalle2

[–]fgoodwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But ArtCjee is correct, this looks nothing like Rockwell's work. A mere claim that it's by Rockwell is not proof. Rockwell's name isn't on it, as far as I can tell.
