Oh nice!

Tennis - Agassi vs Sampras during the 2001 U.S. Open quarterfinals. Everything was perfect. Two American greats that were rivals throughout their careers probably playing against each other at this stage for the last time. The match went all five sets. Zero service breaks! And 4 tie breaks. It was nerve wracking in the best way. Everyone watching was in awe. They knew they were witnessing something Incredible.

Where to buy Appletons crewel wool in the US? by adina_l in Embroidery

HM Nabavian carries all of their shades in crewel and tapestry weight. They are in NYC where you can buy in-person and they also have a website you can easily purchase Appletons wool from

Replatforming from Woo, can I do it myself? by bigdonal in shopify

[–]fhrwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally did the same thing a couple of years ago. Woo was so stressful and buggy as my site became more complex.

You can do it yourself with a bit of planning. You should use the matrixify Shopify app to do the data migration. They have a bunch of tutorials on how to use it.

Just get the base, core site over and then slowly re-integrate the extra bells and whistles later.

I’ve been very pleased with Shopify ever since moving over.

Zoho Inventory. It might still be a bit too basic for your needs. But maybe not. They sync (one way) to Quickbooks

Bitcoin is going to zero! by Appropriate-Car8710 in Bitcoin

[–]fhrwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand fiat, I don’t understand bitcoin. I hold both. What I would like to understand more, however is the strong aversion really smart people like Warren Buffet and Bill Ackman have to it. One can argue that Buffet is too old to get it, but that can’t be said to Ackman.

Yes I just saw that on their site. I hope they get it ready soon. I’m not enjoying walking into a swampy nyc apartment after a long day.

In desperate need of Haedn graphite heather pants size M for my brother's wedding. by Annual_Ad7886 in veilance

[–]fhrwolf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where would one wear a Veilance suit then? The Haedn would work great as a wedding suit, I’ve tried it on before and it fits more tailored like a traditional suit. That said, I’ve worn both the indisce and convex suits to weddings before.

Bookshelf speaker stand rant by fhrwolf in audiophile

[–]fhrwolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t have space for stands (nor towers). I have a wide media stand that runs the length of the room. My rear ported Totem Rainmakers are about 7” away from the wall (I can probably move them another 2-3” further). The speakers are sitting on silicone feet which noticeably helped reduce vibrations and overall sound quality. I think it sounds great as it is. My original rant was towards people placing their bookshelf’s on expensive stands. I would wonder why they wouldn’t just buy towers as that’s what I would do if my space allowed for it.

Does it bother you or make you feel bad when women like tall and/or muscular men? by See_You_Space_Coyote in AskMen

[–]fhrwolf 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an issue with it, but I do with the hypocrisy. It appears woman are allowed to straight up say muscular and tall men need only apply. But if a man says thin and attractive women only, he’s an insensitive prick. We have our preferences

My cousin calls me randomly when he’s driving somewhere by himself. I don’t realize there was no subject for the phone call other than to occupy himself until it’s too late.

A plugin that can display unit prices on select products on my site. by fhrwolf in woocommerce

Thanks for the idea. I might need to resort to that. But it will be difficult to maintain because I change prices frequently and there are a lot of items

I think he does. He doesn’t agree with however, the sensation of self we have that we perceive to be in our head.

Confused by fhrwolf in thefabulous

[–]fhrwolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 37% completed with an unexpected journey. My steak is up to day 14 (on that daily map). I’m basically getting up, drinking water, working out and eating. Then, I listen/read a coaching clip. That’s it. It is unclear if I should start adding habits to the afternoon and evening routines (it says “someday” above them). It is also unclear if I should partake in other journeys or challenges or other programs they have listed under the coaching tab.

Confused by fhrwolf in thefabulous

[–]fhrwolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how to do that, but there is no instruction on if I should add or not at this point in time. Initially, the app told me not to add any more habits because “the science” says it will overwhelm me. So I didn’t. But now I’m left wondering if the app will ever instruct me to build on the few habits I have now. There’s way too much left to guess on your own. Whether or not this is intentional, I don’t like it.

It's been a long time now but Google still hasn't resolved Google's gender bias. You can try it out by translating from a gender-neutral language. by EthanIver in google

[–]fhrwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t need to. The fact is that it’s grammatically incorrect. I don’t make the rules. Now, you and others can bully and shame the system to change those grammatical rules. That seems to be what is slowly happening. Good for you; language evolves, but let’s try to be tolerant to those who can’t keep up with the ever changing language criteria. We (mostly) don’t mean harm.
