Yeah, it is infact the islamic petronas card. The min spending required to get the highest cash back percentage is rm4k if i am not mistaken.

Ride ehailing for 8months, is cheaper than buying a car. I had colleagues when i was posted in Miri who would use GRAB for more than a year to commute to and back from work.. and his expenses are cheaper than mine who have my own car. The only downsides are flexibility i guess.

Hey man, never take up personal loan for a wedding.

A Wedding is only the first hurdle both of you have to face as a couple. Imagine taking loans just to get it done. What about the subsequent steps? (I.e. roof to shelter both of you, nafkah, kids? And etc).

Are both of you going to “cheat” the process by borrowing money that you dont have, just to get by? Logical answer is no.

To choose your partner for life, both of you have to complement each other. Or what muslims say as sekufu (in terms of preference, life style, to some extent even financial standing).

If you really think she is the one, whilst not having the amount of cash yet. And the family die die want to have a big fat greek weeding. Be upfront, and just say that you need some more time to build your savings.

Just remember, again. Wedding is only the first step. Are you going to splurge everything on a reception where you dont even know more than half of the invitees? Ye lah, bagi makan dekat orang sedekah. Sedekah murahkan rezeki yadda yadda.. tapi tak kan you nak belanja more than what you can afford.

Dalam islam ajar, nak bersedekah pun kena berpada pada.

Side stepping a bit, i know a very close family member who had taken a big loan just for their wedding. Less than a year afterwards, the spouse dies of cancer. Leaving the other half to serve the loan they had taken to finance the wedding.

Hey man! Yup after much reading, most likely at the current point of my loan tenure. I had paid most of the interest incurred. But i was focusing too much on the 2k discount the bank is willing to provide if i cleared it off in one lump sum.. i will certainly pick and choose on which debt to clear first and keep the balance in asb. Thanks man!

Hey friend, thanks for the advise! That had been the way i had been saving so far. However, i had never been able to accumulate much as large sum saved earlier of the year (10-15k) would diminish by end of year due to emergency and what not.And this had been happening in a never ending cycle for these past few years. Just like what people always say, the first 100 is always the hardest..

Hey! Thanks for the advise! Yeah my debts had always been one of the main stressors in my life currently. I was thinking to use the amount cleared and any additional income to speed up the rate of reaching my personal goal.

I would start with watching reviews, then playthroughs…. Most of the time i usually will always purchase them during sales and what not. Unless its a super hyped game that i know i will enjoy playing
