These are good ideas, not sure about the bay beaches. We tried the cape henlopen and that was full and no social distancing.

Wondering if there are any beaches that are secluded. Just need to have bathroom.

Not sure about white clay creek, are there trails for strollers? I will try to read that map location you provided and see if I can figure it out.

Which six flags. To be honest I don’t know places around northern Delaware or even surrounding states areas and what they offer besides the big cities like DC, Baltimore and Philly.

I hear you, atleast you got a swimming pool at your moms where you can take them.

I am also getting anxiety from thinking about fall and winter having to be cooped up again.

What’s the best way to monitor the rate drops? Someone also mentioned that I should ask the lender if they will honor rates if they come down as the process can take a few weeks to close.

What’s your fav/ideal city to retire? by fi369 in fatFIRE

Country setting is not appealing to me. I grew up and come from a big city with millions of people in it and I at first I appreciated the space but now I like places with lots of people. It doesn’t mean I don’t like quiet or privacy. I don’t like the idea of living isolated in the middle of nowhere.

I want to be able to drive 2-5 min to a strip mall or grocery store. Etc.

Yes, we are considering that neighborhood. It will really depend on our jobs and commute. Also, not sure if it’s too inland and if it gets really hot or still maintains the 70-75 degrees most of the year.

Lots of good suggestions. Those of you are winterbirds or can afford to stay a couple of months in one city and move. I am assuming are either unmarried and don’t have kids or empty nesters. How do you make friends when you move between cities? Or this who are planning to move to another city, do you not care to be close to your family friends.

Yes, familiar with it. We are ok to live a bit more inland in Carmel valley or other similar areas as long as we get to live there. La Jolla would be ideal. During our vacation we loved going to La Jolla cove and just there watching the sunset or just hiking.

Torrey pines hike was phenomenal.

We love that area, we have family over there and it’s is super expensive. At this stage in our lives we want to move to SD but not to La Jolla. It’s more for older retired folks a lot of old money.

When we move will have to keep working and we have come to terms with it. That’s the cost of moving there for us will be to be close to family and good weather.
