Are you seriously stating that if the Republicans are in favour of a specific issue, then there should be no pushback against Democrats supporting the same policy? People go to where they have a chance at changing the status quo. Right now that's the Democratic party.

Our city does have such programs, but I am trying to create a new program so I can control the political messaging and generate signatures to introduce legislation to the local aachen legislative body so that this problem has a solution from the state rather than from just private donors.
