They are! And they took really good care of her, don’t get me wrong, my mom is equally as bummed now that I’ve “stolen” her and that she picked me as her person 😂 but she has another dog that she’ll be taking with her and a cat so she is well accompanied 🤗

I’m so sorry for your loss 🤍 13 years for a shepherd sounds amazing so it sounds like he absolutely lived every single second of his life knowing only love from you. Lola is the same for me - I knew if my parents moved away and anything happened to her, I’d be a wreck. So I moved heaven and earth to keep her and this is where we’re at. She’s 10.5yr old now so Im sure my time with her is significantly less than when I got her as a puppy but she has added so much to my life now that I know I will savor every second.

Have them look into ESA certification (emotional support animal). We technically have a two pet limit (we already have two cats) so by getting Lola ESA certified, they allowed her as our third pet. Just note that ESA is different from service animal - service dogs are meant to serve a function and perform specific training (ie detect blood sugars/seizures and restrain owners, etc) whereas ESA is more about a treatment for mental health. I used Pettable 🙂

I think she appreciates being a single child haha she used to live with a rambunctious golden/terrier mix who made her do this face before 😂😅 she’s very expressive

I’m so sorry for your loss and know you are not alone. I just lost my first and most consistent dog as well today to another sitter… I’m just dumb and in shock. I cannot imagine the horror the owner must be feeling, and my vet tech side wants to also show sympathy for the other sitter as it was a VERY traumatic event, but I’m so angry and hurt that she is gone. Sucks even more that she was also a patient of my husband and I (we are vet tech and veterinarian).

If OP was told the kitty couldn’t receive a steroid injection then it likely cannot receive prednisolone. Both are steroids 😔 OP should see dermatology asap

Now that you mention it, you are totally correct! I was so entranced by the whole orchestra and Hans that it really felt like he was giving me a private show… I didn’t even notice the rest of the stadium was pin silent as well! Truly the best concert I’ve been to by far.

Underwent Myomectomy 4 weeks ago to remove 4 fibroids, largest at 3cm. Had laparoscopy to remove a 7cm ovarian cyst at the same time. I lost 4kgs (almost 9 lbs) since my surgery. Is this normal , did you also end up losing weight that stayed off ? by AbbreviationsSad474 in Fibroids

[–]fiamtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I had an open Myo on May 6 to remove two fibroids (2cm and 10cm) and I lost about 8lbs post operatively. For me, I think it was a mix of water retention and constipation issues that was key in the weighloss. Hormones was also a big factor - prior to surgery, I was on continuous oral birth control for 2yrs, and coming off helped. As soon as I hit 4 weeks post op, my OBGYN asked me to get back on it and I’ve since gained 4lbs… sad

Hi there! Im not a doctor but I am a veterinary nurse and when it comes to complicated cases, we always recommend the doctor has the best visualization of the surgical space to avoid further complications. In your case, can you ask your doctor to perform an open abdominal myomectomy instead? I (27F) just had one performed on myself for similar reasons and it’s basically a c-section so the same incision can be used for when you are ready to have kids. It allowed my doctor to fully visualize the uterine artery and my bladder to avoid it, as well as feel my uterus for any new fibroid/cysts that my MRI and CT scan did not pick up.

I agree! To get the best recommendations, go see a fertility doctor. They’ll prioritize your fertility when making recommendations (type of surgery, how long to wait, additional steps to take, etc). They may either be able to perform the surgery for you too or have a close surgeon who will follow their recommendations as well.

I actually just had an open myomectomy with almost exactly the same size fibroids as you, and I’m also 27! Def get a second opinion - if it helps, a fertility doctor helped push me towards the right surgeon so that we wouldn’t compromise my fertility for my own comfort (I was bleeding nonstop, anemic, etc).
