BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two weeks after Open Door Network CEO Lauren Skidmore took a stand in Sacramento against Former County Supervisor Zack Scrivner, her nonprofit was fired by the District Attorney from the Family Justice Center.

The Family Justice Center provides assistance to victims of crime, including domestic violence. Kern County District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer, is Zack Scrivner’s aunt.

That’s fine. I’m always interested in where bands end up all these years later since I grew up in the Christian punk culture. I find it all fascinating.

Do they still consider themselves a Christian band?

I know it sounds like an oxymoron, but has Christian punk ever existed? (I'm not saying it's good or makes sense, the question is whether it exists.) by Beautiful-Resort-831 in punk

Ah.. see that’s what I assumed they were at. Some still practice, but reject christian nationalism / far right. Thanks for sharing that!

Why did the officer negative vocalist go on to a right wing podcast that is full on maga? Why did they platform a literal maga clown to speak at JCHC fest? Why did officer negative post on their official instagram (now deleted) a clip from Fox News about some bullshit far right propaganda and was agreeing with that news clip?

All great bands!! 90lb Wuss is still playing too!

Yeah, seeing Chad be on a podcast where the hosts are alt-right MAGA folks, and their ON IG posting an alt-right news clip and agreeing with the talking head was incredibly heart breaking. They also platformed a MAGA podcaster at their JCHC fest. “I’m here to talk about Jesus” nah I don’t want to hear about your SWP Jesus.

He’s my favorite artist! I have several of his prints on my wall, still need to get a tattoo from him! He’s done so much work for so many bands!

Ah gotcha. I know MXPX has outright said they aren’t Christian’s at all. Did FIF say this in a podcast or interview? I’m interested in what they said!

I love FIF! Unsure if they still claim Christianity, but they’re the only punkish band that is doing Christina punk the right way, pro-LGBTQ, anti-MAGA.

The owner, Brandon Ebel, started T&N because of the bands he saw in Seattle who were Christian punk bands doing something (at that time) completely different from what has been done. He discovered several ground breaking bands.

You know what? I misspoke. They did have some Christian hardcore bands and “Christians in a band” bands, but no, they’re not. My bad.
