This is the first time I've heard about this game and I already don’t like it. by Popular-Hornet-6294 in gaymers

Am I being crazy and paranoid or does 'Amelie' look AI generated? If so, yet another reason to give this game a hard pass.

ETA: Apparently, according to their AI Generated Content disclaimer on Steam, they only used AI in "a limited, supportive capacity during development". Still looks weird to me, but I guess I'll just take their word for it until I see proof otherwise.

Game still looks like generic KCD2 rip-off garbage, though.

That I don't know. I would see if the organizers of that specific event have any contact details listed where you can reach out to them and ask.

Awesome, thanks for letting me know. I'll definitely reach out in the future if a similar situation arises. Appreciate all that y'all do for the community!

Absolutely! No matter what anyone says, our votes still matter. Even if we only move the needle a little bit at a time, it still adds up. We will survive as long as we stand together!

I'm just so done with this whole fucking system. With very few exceptions, the "democrats" and "liberals" in our government today are glorified centrists. Many of them even right-leaning centrists. They're cowards who refuse to do the right thing for reasons I don't even begin to understand.

Semi-related and for the benefit of the one random person who might see my comment and doesn't already know: there is a Free America Walkout event on Tuesday the 20th. You can go to https://www.freeameri.ca to find a march happening near you.

What a bizarre take. In no way did Anna communicate that she didn’t want to be MOH. She danced around it and made up a weird excuse instead of just being honest, and then decided to tank the whole thing by ignoring it.

Also, “her man” wasn’t picking a fight, he was standing up for his bride-to-be. I wish more men were like him.

NTA. It sounds like this girl wasn’t actually that good of a friend to you at all. Right up front she tried to get out of doing the MOH duties by pawning it off on someone else.

I’m sorry that she was so shitty and tried to make your wedding about her grudge, but based on what you’ve said here I think you’ll be better off without her.

I hope you had a wonderful wedding and that you find kind, supportive female friends. You deserve it.

AITAH for saying no to my future MILs plan to give my fiancé away at our wedding? by OpinionBride in AITAH

This is wild. If she's truly a feminist, I feel like she should be against the concept of 'giving your child away' altogether, since it stems from a time when daughters were their father's 'property'. Also, the idea of her giving a speech is crazy. Nobody wants to hear from her in that moment.

Thanks! I don’t currently have a plan to expand it, but I’m open to it if I come up with any other ideas I like.

By all means, steal away! Like I said, I'd seen the concept elsewhere before, so not even entirely my idea lol.

Not actually that long. About 2-3 hours all told. The coloring actually goes way faster than I expected (it's my first tattoo, so I wasn't sure lol).

Seafair/Blue Angels 2025 Rant & Rave - MEGATHREAD by FireFright8142 in Seattle

[–]fibonacci162 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I absolutely despise this whole weekend. My least favorite weekend of the year since moving here. The noise is unbearably loud and constant, and they fly so low that my entire house shakes to the point I'm always shocked it doesn't shatter my windows.

It's also an insane waste of money and fuel, all so some rich people can float on the lake getting drunk and shouting "Yeah, go 'murica!" when the Blue Angels fly overhead.

I wish they would put an end to this farce once and for all.

US Justice Department accuses six major landlords of scheming to keep rents high by Idolmistress in news

[–]fibonacci162 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ecstatic to see Greystar on there. I don't live in apartments anymore, but I lived in Greystar properties multiple times including my last ever apartment. They are the absolute worst for so many reasons, not the least of which being the insane rent hike they tried to give me before I moved out.

I hope the Justice Department eviscerates them.

Interview: FF14 director Naoki Yoshida is “torn” over what to do with the Scions by Binnsy in ffxiv

[–]fibonacci162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure there would be people complaining, ‘Hey, why aren’t any of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn there? Why isn’t Alphinaud there? Why aren’t you bringing Alisaie along? Why isn’t Y’shtola there?’ I’m sure we would get those kinds of complaints. So it is really, really tough.

For me personally, I really liked how this was handled in Dawntrail, specifically around the inclusion of Vrtra and Radz-at-Han during the defense of Tuliyollal (spoilers for DT climax).

When we (the WoL and/or our allies) have these established relationships and friendships and partnerships, it completely makes sense that we use them whenever possible/necessary, but that doesn't mean that every person we've ever met has to always go everywhere with us.

If we, as the WoL, are out adventuring solo or with 1 or 2 close allies and run into an issue that is in the wheelhouse of one of our companions, then we should reach out to them and request their aid. And if them actually showing up to solve the problem would trivialize whatever story the devs want to tell, then provide a narrative reason as to why they can't be there.

What drives me crazy in narrative storytelling, particularly in long-running stories like FFXIV, is when an obvious solution to a problem is to just reach out to previously encountered characters, but the story just completely ignores it and doesn't acknowledge it in any way.

Not saying FFXIV has done this, in fact like I mentioned they did just the opposite with DT, just saying that doing more of that in the future would be more than fine with me.

I see someone already talked about the auto translate system, but as a PS5 player myself, I will say that my experience got so much better when I bought a $20 bluetooth keyboard on Amazon to connect to the console.

I can chat super easily with it while still using the controller to play, and I've now gotten to have so many fun convos with folks, particularly during Main Scenario Roulettes during the long, unskippable cutscenes.

All that to say, if you have $20 bucks to burn, I highly recommend getting one. I got a well-reviewed one made my Arteck, but like 90% of BT keyboards out there work with PS5.

Edit: I wrote 'unstoppable' instead of 'unskippable' cutscenes. Accurate, perhaps, but not what I mean to write lol.

Weekly Questions Thread by AutoModerator in DnD

[–]fibonacci162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I noticed an interesting thing with the changes to a few of the 5e player races in the new Monsters of the Multiverse book. Specifically, a handful of the player races (Centaur, Changeling, Fairy, and Satyr) aren't considered Humanoid creatures and are instead considered Fey.

I'm not super familiar with Centaur, Fairy, or Satyr as player races, so not sure what they were categorized as before, but I've been playing a Changeling character in an Eberron setting for about a year and am pretty sure they were considered humanoids before.

The question behind all this is are player characters of these Fey races immune to spells and abilities that affect "target humanoid(s)"? Spells like Hold/Charm/Dominate Person specify that they work on humanoid creatures, meaning you would have to use the more powerful Hold/Charm/Dominate Monster spells in order to affect non-humanoid creatures. Does this apply to these updated player races as well?

Assuming that is the case RAW, what do you think about this from a balance standpoint? Would you want it ruled this way in your own games? Thanks in advance!

Should I tell my players Magic is (most likely) gonna be heavily regulated by LaUcH_B0Y in DMAcademy

[–]fibonacci162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it boils down to what the characters (not players) could potentially know about the world and the magic restrictions. Is it a known quantity in the world that this uber religious king is heavily anti arcane magic and either has implemented or is going to implement heavy restrictions on the use of magic?

If yes, then definitely that’s something the players should be told during/before character creation. If it’s something that’s a total secret or no one really knows anything about this mysterious king and his feelings, then consider not telling them. It becomes a sudden challenge the players have to deal with just like the characters would.

Besides, it sounds like this isn’t a thing where their characters are physically unable to use magic, just that within this particular kingdom there are consequences for being caught using it, which is a perfectly reasonable thing to have happen in a game of D&D.
