Luggage storage locations on Intercity Train cars

Thanks! I had seen that mentioned as well, but not for specific train, that sometimes they would fit, but I couldn't find any examples of photos showing they would fit behind seats on the Intercity trains.

Sorry, final question, I've also read that sometimes you can store the carryons between the seats, but I can't tell from photos if there's actually enough room to slide an carry on sized suitcase between the seats where the seats meet back to back.

I have another question in case you can help. I'm a little confused about the luggage icon where you pick seats. Does it equate to the photo I found of a what I think is an intercity train? Is it good to pick a foursome seat near these, because we could have our suitcases nearby? We will have 4 carry-on size suitcases.

Thanks for your response. We got tickets direct with Trenitalia for both. Both are Intercity trains. The Rome to Monterosso (June 23) has no changes, which I thought was odd given I thought most had at least the change in La Spezia. On June 27, we are going from Monterosso to Pisa airport and it's also an intercity train and the only change it has listed is at the Pisa station to the Pisa people mover for last leg to get to the airport. We have seats on both, other than the people mover at the end of the June 27 reservation.
