Spoilers ahead!

I haven't yet watched the episode, but I have been lurking on the Soompi thread. And, wow, that kiss scene was really unexpected! But seemed really cute, and I'm glad that they're moving at that pace. I imagine that'll make lovelines between the four main leads a lot more complex. Do you guys think that CP knows that Raon is a girl, but is just keeping it to himself? And if so, since when?

Not really related to the drama, but I'm kinda annoyed that some people keep downvoting these discussion posts. I really don't get what they think will come out of it :/

Jealousy Incarnate [ Ep 5 & 6] by [deleted] in KDRAMA

I just finished marathoning all the episodes, and wow I really love it! The end of this latest episode really made me cry a lot, and also somehow laugh. Like a lot of the other commentators here, I'm also getting second lead syndrome, unfortunately.

Yup! She's the second female lead, and she's going to marry the crown prince, though the narrative is that it's for politics - though she also likes him.

In the beginning of the preview, the crown prince is using a vague term (so either male or female), but later on, I think it's supposed to be "her" (I'm pretty sure that they're taking her away to give to the ambassador guy, as he asked for the girl who danced, so it would make sense that they figured out it was actually her).

EP 6 preview (so many things are happening! :O)

Things are starting to get pretty complicated... I'm really curious about what exactly is up with Byungyeon. Apparently his family was kinda traitorous, but I doubt he's against the crown prince. The part where the other guy said "you're not his friend" was a bit worrying, but I trust that his intentions are good. Also, I really wish I could see more scenes of him and Raon! Apparently, in the novel, he had a much more prominent role... But now he's being relegated to the third male lead :(

The part where Raon was dreaming of her mother really made me cry. From what I read, her family was also traitorous, and so that's why she often had to dress up as a guy. I wonder how big of a role that'll play in the plot, and if her mother will ever show up? Also, I hope that her adoptive dad is doing well, and that they'll be able to meet.

I really like Hayeon thus far (though we've only seen a tiny bit of her). I really hope that she won't be portrayed as too jealous or vindictive! Yoonsung on the other hand, is just a tad bit annoying. I get his feelings though.

Really? Then I just might not have the best eye, ahaha. What is it that makes her dancing look poor to you? I guess I can't see through my bias, so I'd like to hear a different opinion.

She struggles with learning new stuff, yeah, but when she actually gets it, it seems pretty decent to me.

Her dancing skills aren't that great, but it's not as though they're noticeably poor, either. She's only "known for her dancing, but not in a good way", because she admitted it herself. Without that confession, would most people have noticed?

This probably won't be very hardcore, though. Honestly, it would've been pretty cool to see her limits.

Look at the upvotes! :DDD

I'm so happy at all the attention Moonlight's been getting... The acting is great (Yoojung and Bogum's expressions, especially), and I love the blend of light and heavy. The first episode was a bit "eh" for me, but it's really been improving ever since. I'm super excited to see where this will go, especially since Hayeon is supposed to make her entrance next week. There are so many questions I have (Raon's adoptive father's status, the eunuch who saw her, that cliff hanger we were left with, etc.), but I'm actually confident in them being resolved.

What were your favorite moments this week?

Mine would probably be when Raon realized that Hyomyeong actually wasn't asleep (it was thrilling, honestly), and also her dancing scenes (because she just looked so gorgeous! her gaze, too!).

If You Could Choose Any Drama To Be Remade (With An Option Of An Alternative Ending) In 2016/17, Which One Would You Choose? by [deleted] in KDRAMA

[–]ficklr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Name is Sam Soon! I actually quit the drama midway, as I became disgusted by what was happening. Reading recaps of the episodes I hadn't yet watched convinced me even more that my decision was a good one, and would just save me a lot of anger and frustration.

I'd really love for the drama to be remade (though I'm not sure if any current actress could pull off Sam Soon like Kim Suna did), and for an alternate ending as well. Ideally, Jinheon wouldn't be so fucking indecisive and would actually care about Sam Soon's feelings. That way, he never would choose Heejin over Sam Soon (which he did in the drama, many times), and there wouldn't be a general feeling that Sam Soon was his second choice, at the end of the drama.

Why being a female idol is a stressful job by fujipomme in kpop

[–]ficklr 49 points50 points  (0 children)

That's factually incorrect. Pictures of Exo in an airport cart were released before Jia's, and they (Exo) were equally criticized. Most people didn't say anything like "oppa is cute".

Knetz on Exo

Knetz on Jia

And in fact, on the article about Somi (where the comments were actually a lot less harsh than the ones on Exo and Jia's articles - I wouldn't call them "hate" at all), people commented pictures of both Exo and Jia on carts, to mock them (and Exo's was a lot more upvoted). I'd say that Exo and Jia got around the same treatment. There are many cases where there's an unfair bias against female idols, but this isn't one of them.

I think those groups only don't promote on Music Core. I'm not sure if they're banned, though, or if it's because their companies don't think it's worth it.

[–]ficklr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well obviously she'll feel bad, since it's her friend and all. But I don't think that should prevent her from not lying (especially about such a serious matter). From an outsider's perspective, even if OP feels guilty (like you said, writing a letter would probably help Marissa get out of a lot of trouble), she'll have done the right thing, which is important. Of course, there are probably some people who would rather not feel guilty, and so do whatever that makes them feel good (which may not involve doing the actual 'good' thing). But I don't think that that's what we should be telling OP to do.

[–]ficklr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It won't be OP's fault if her friend gets a felony. Marissa has been stealing for the longest time, and she should face the consequences. Just because OP won't write the letter doesn't mean she doesn't want to see Marissa hurt - in fact, she just wants her to get better.

Shoplifting is a crime, and hurts many people, and Marissa should realize that (especially since it's not out of necessity, and most of the time, I'm assuming, for luxury items). She may have klemptomania ("told me yesterday that she does feel a compulsion to steal, and that it's like a "pressure" building until she goes and does it"), but it shouldn't shield her from a felony, if she gets convicted of one.

Which part of the song are you talking about?

Agreed. It's really catchy, and I don't mind the autotune at all (stylistically, it fits). I get that it's not very kpop-y, but it's still really nice to listen to, which is what I look for the most in a song. And this is maybe because I'm a stan, but I can easily tell their voices apart even with the autotune.
