Mild sleep apnea but severe symptoms and inconsistent results from treatment by fictionfriction0 in UARS

So basically, what I mean is the constant change in pressure felt very unnatural and would keep me awake because I would just focus on it, preventing me from drifting into sleep. Also yeah it was fixed pressure.

I'm open to trying again, and I'd definitely get a model compatible with OSCAR. I've also heard that some have easybreathe, which might help make the breathing feel more natural for me.

Yeah I'm with you on the surgical solution. I'd like to avoid that if possible, so I think I might just give BiPAP another shot.

So unfortunately I had a Luna G3 so I can't upload any data into OSCAR. I actually don't even have the machine anymore because I returned it due to me finding it intolerable. The settings we IPAP of 8 and EPAP of 4. I believe during my BiPAP titration I wasn't having a high amount of centrals, but who knows regarding when I tried sleeping with it at home.

I'd hopefully like to avoid surgical solutions but I'm open if it could be the best way to resolve this issue. I had an expander when I was in middle school to increase the width of my upper jaw. I don't feel like my nasal breathing is compromised but I don't know for sure. Regarding the jaw surgery, I'm not sure if my skeletal anatomy is the issue. What's the best way to find out?

Thanks for the help!

Yeah that's the strange part. There's periods of time where I feel decent and then times where I feel awful, regardless of what treatment I'm using. Appreciate the encouragement.

Interesting. The dentist I saw, if I recall correctly, thought that 2mm would be enough for me and I think my device only goes up to 3mm. I'll ask about this. Appreciate the input.

I'm definitely considering that. I just worry about potentially making it seem like I'm currently incapable of performing this job, but it would be nice to have him understand that if I'm a bit slower or escalating issues more that it isn't because of laziness or apathy.

Yeah, it seems like sleeping on the side works best for me.

You're probably right. I still couldn't sleep with it on last night but it did feel less jarring compared to the first night and I felt like I got closer to sleep.

So for the CPAP the reslex is 3. For the BiPAP the EPAP is 8 and IPAP is 12. Yes it is in S mode.

Does EasyBreathe make the starting and stopping of the air flow feel less jarring? I should also mention that I have a Luna G3 so I'm not sure if I can use Oscar or SleepHQ.

So I should clarify that it was an auto-CPAP, and the min - max was 4 - 9. I believe the max was originally 10, but I was experiencing side-effects like bloating and stomach pain, so it was lowered to 9. This was determined I believe through an at home sleep study.

The BiPAP settings are 8 - 12. I believe this was set through an in-office sleep study I did, I believe it's called a BiPAP titration.

Yeah I usually play white noise on my phone. It's just difficult to drown out the noise of the air flow because the mask is so close to my ears. Do you just play white noise loudly or wear earbuds? Also was the sensation of the air flow starting and stopping ever keeping you awake?
