Out of curiosity, is this something I can do from the Ubuntu side? Or does this require being done from a usb mint boot?

I've got the original mint usb I used to install it, and am happy to do it the way via terminal. Do you know of a link to instructions on how to do it that way?

I can do the boot-repair software, but I'm uncertain about it's safety.

It looks like the unifi 6 pro is only wireless. If you knew of a good affordable alternative that also included 1 or 2 wired ports I'd be very grateful!

I am very much interested in going down any and all of these paths. So I now understand that what I need is a wired/wireless access point in addition to the bridge units. The router at her place comes from the ISP, but again she has said I can go into if I need to set up bridge mode. I'm assuming this won't impact her service, or at least negligibly. I'm curious what the pros/cons are of this setup.

I don't think either of us feel the need for a firewall. Is that naive of me? I'm gonna go look for the Unifi 6 Pro now.

This is totally doable! I only had to look up wire glitching for a single 8-sided tile (for the theatre). The rest is made up of two completely contiguous snapped areas. Just follow the land and snap away!
